Sapphire boards have made a name for themselves in blistering graphics, but past performance is on the line whenever a new product premiers. The Sapphire Radeon X1900XT video card is clocked to run at 621 MHz, giving you more than enough speed to take the field running. Using the ATI chipset to which Sapphire has long been dedicated, this high-end value priced chip gives you some serious bang for your buck without breaking the bank.

The 48 pixel shaders and 16 pixel pipelines process 3D animation into a brilliant display of visual effects. The revolutionary VPU has ultra-threaded instruction decoding units that boost game play frame rates, and smoothen rendering of visual effects, without any loss in performance. The onboard 512 MB of 256-bit, 8-channel 1440 MHz GDDR3 memory standard and native PCI Express x16 bus interface deliver excessive bandwidth required for bandwidth intensive applications, such as animation and games software.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Performer - Unacceptable Heat/Noise

Pros: * Fast
* 512 MB GDDR3
* Pretty

Cons: * HOT - stock cooling is ~ 60C idle and > 80C MAX
These are Unacceptable heat levels - you will need a Zalman vf-900 or similar.
* Noisy Fan under load

Other Thoughts: Fan Spins up quite loud at startup for a few seconds until the controller tells it to go to low speed - annoying...

5 out of 5 eggsSaphire 1900xt 512mb faaantastic

Pros: Does all you'd think or ask of it,it'll hold you over til dx10 comes out and they go thru the noobiness and come in with a great solution for dx10.

5 out of 5 eggsschweeet card

Pros: This card is amazing for its price. I put a zalaman cooler on it before I even tested the stock cooler, I get 38c idle temp and mid 50's under load. Runs DoD:s with no lag and makes it look like the movies from steam its an amazing card for anyone who doesn't want to blow 500 on the top ones.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I bought that Y cable 2 12volts to the pci-e connector just to be safe, not sure if its required but other cards that aren't as good as this one come with the cable so I would get it. Newegg got it here a day early so thx, Didn't have to wait another day to start building my computer. And uh lol never realized how LONG pci-e cards were, make sure you have room for this card before you buy it cuz it runs the whole length of the motherboard. Also weather you buy ATI or Nvidia get a SLI or Crossfire motherboard so when these cards drop in price you can get another one for extremley cheap.

4 out of 5 eggsNICE!!!!!!!!

Pros: Crossfire ready, solid performance, blows the heck out of 3Dmark scores and renders all games with high settings without a sweat. Little less powerful then the XTX, but still a good solid card for the money. Probley a better cost versus performance card on the market now.

Cons: The card is a behemouth in power consumtion and size, so have a good solid Power Supply and Case area to fit all this power under the hood.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card.. but..

Pros: The card performed great at stock speed and screamed through anything that I would throw at it. I was also pleased that the stock fan was really not that loud even though the card did run a bit hot 50Cidle/80Cload. Arctic Silver5 on the stock fan or an aftermarket cooler would be a good idea however.

Cons: I was hoping to overclock it to XTX speeds but fell short because the memory would max at 750 before getting artifacts. I was fine with running it at stock but the card would make high frequency noises in certain 3d applications that were easily distracting. I first tried replacing my Hiper 580W psu with a 700W ocz gamextreme thinking that power could be the issue, but the noise continued(although not quite as loud). I eventually found from some googling that this likely was from a leaky capacitor on the board and although harmless, it *may* impact the lifespan of the card.

Other Thoughts: Overall it performed great and I was impressed with the huge gain over my old 6800gt. I could have just got unlucky with the capacitor issue, but it is still a great buy. I refunded this for a sapphire x1900xtx and have no issues or noises at all. I have alot of trust in sapphire and really do notice an image quality improvement over my nvidia 6800gt.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: Great card. For the guy below who said it needs a separate power adapter, all of the high-end Pci-e16 cards need the pci-e power connector. New PSU's have this. It isn't ATI's fault if you have an older PSU that isn't compatible. If you'd gotten a high end nvidia you'd run into the same problem. Also, this card requires a 550W PSU if you are running crossfire... you might need a new one anyway for power requirements.

Cons: None

3 out of 5 eggsIt was good while it worked

Pros: The X1900XT is really a powerful graphics card. IT scored 10140 3Dmarks in 3D Mark 05, untweaked on the default benchmark. Chewed through NFS: Mostwanted on maxed settings with only an occassional hiccup while driving through trees.

Cons: Comon Sapphire! This is (was?) a high-end vid card! There is NO bundled software. What a joke!

My X1900XT died quietly in its sleep. I booted my OC up only to see random lines and other artifacts all over the monitor. Only lasted maybe 3 weeks. :-(

Other Thoughts: I RMA'ed the card to Newegg since Sapphire seems...reluctant to mention any warranty info on their website. Just replaced it with an X1900XTX from MSI. So far so good.

3 out of 5 eggsATI sucks

Pros: 512 mb, 256 bit fairly high clock speeds decent price

Cons: got the card, tried to install it, guess what needs a special power adapter that it at first claims to include if it is needed but it doesn't have it. Now i have to buy a new adapter and i can't build my new computer in the meantime.

Other Thoughts: just because of this incident i will never buy ATI again.
