5 out of 5 eggsNot bad considering it'san ATI card

Pros: Overclocked to 520/540 with no issues. Came with 16 pipes unlocked. Thought about flashing, but decided it wasn't needed.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: It's a great card for the money... hell a better than great card for the money. I was suprised at how well it ran; I am still an nVidia junkie but for my mid range systems this card works wonders.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card!

Pros: 16 Pipelines out of box
R480 Chip
Great OCing

Cons: Thermal paste

Other Thoughts: I bought this just today, and I have to say this card is worth every penny. It has the R480 chip which ATI TOOL reported it be R430. I took off fan and heatsink, the red pcb board which mine is has the R480 chip.
I cleaned old thermal paste off and applied Artic Ceraminique, OCed at 525/600 at 34c idled with stock cooling. 62c under full load. 3DMark 2006 score was 2155. Not to bad for the price. Get it!!

3 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Although this card came doa, I was able to see that it had 16 pipelines functioning, bought it refurbished so I'm not blaming Newegg

Cons: bought it refurbished, but still it should have come packed in an anti static bag

Other Thoughts: waiting on my RMA, it's my first with Newegg, so I'm not getting another card untilthis gets taken care of. The funny thing is, I'm gonna reorder the exact card, omly new, instead of refurbished

5 out of 5 eggsWOW

Pros: Came with 16 pixel pipelines unlocked. This card was a *significant* improvement over card I replaced (radeon X600). For example - the X600 played CoD2 @ around 30 fps (640x480); the X800GTO2 typically gives 60 - 90 fps (1024 x 768). I haven't tried higher resolutions, because my monitor is only 17". FEAR got a somewhat lesser boost, but I haven't really tried tweaking that game's performance. Overall, I'm pretty happy - I think I got what I paid for.

Cons: No documentation, drivers included would not load on my system (latest catalyst drivers from ATI site worked fine).

Other Thoughts: Newegg shipped the card FAST.
Took forever to get the card working in my system, but I think that was my fault (had NO docs, and am new to Windows XP).
Haven't tried overclocking it yet - will need to get a new power supply first - my Dell came with only a 305 W PS :(
The card is pretty quiet in my computer's case, even with the Fan @ 100% (Dell E510)

5 out of 5 eggsWay awesome, best under $200 ATI card

Pros: Great card, easily overclockable, new ones come unlocked to 16 pipes. Newegg ships awesomely as always, using Fedex.

Cons: No pixel shader 3 support (no biggie), maybe more future proof to spend another 100 and step up to X1800

Other Thoughts: Well, this card does not dissapoint. I bought it, slapped a Zalman VF700-Cu on it, and off I went with the overclocking. I stepped it up to X850XTPE speeds (540/590), found it was stable, so I flashed it with a X850XTPE bios. Here's some step by step 3dmark scores.

Stock (400/490) - 11239
X850XT speeds (520/540) - 12966
X850XTPE flash (540/590) - 13531

Stock (400/490) - 5240
X850XT speeds (520/540) - 6298
X850XTPE flash (540/590) - 6643

4 out of 5 eggsgood card

Pros: It was a good deal when I got it, unlockable to 16 pipelines (though I think that they come unlocked nowadays. If not, go to Conservatively OCed to 520/610.

Cons: Pretty loud. Cheaper to buy an X850 XT, which is a nicer card. (at least, it is now that the x1900s and so forth have come out)

Other Thoughts: 45 idle 65 load. Runs FEAR well at most high settings. Oblivion makes the framerate lag noticeably at some places on high settings w/ no AA or AF. Loudness is not really a problem if you wear headphones or turn the volume up. It was a good deal last year, but now it would be cheaper to get an X850XT, which is what the X800 GTO2 unlocks to. If you get this to play next gen titles (ie Oblivion) you will just end up upgrading again in another 3 months.

5 out of 5 eggsFirst ATI card in 7 years

Pros: The first and foremost was the fact that it uses the R480 core (as opposed to the R430 it reports). 16 pipelines right out of the box, plus ATI Tool reported a maximum overclock of 559/581. I can play BF2, F.E.A.R., Quake IV and most newer games at higher resolutions with high on most settings without a hitch or degredation in gameplay.

Cons: While others report good overclocks with stock cooling, that was the first to go. I replaced it with an ATI silencer for quieter, cooler operations. Secondly, while ATI Tool reported a MAX OC of 559/581, I've only been able to play games stable at 550/570... still very good from the "stock" 400/490, but not as high as I was hoping for. It also doesn't support SM 3.0 but that's not a tremendous issue for me right now.

Other Thoughts: This was my first ATI card I bo ught since the Radeon line was introduced several years ago (I bought an ATI Rage Fury in '99) and I've pretty much been an nvidia follwer. This card has really shown me the other side of the fence, and quite honestly, it's pretty darn good. Gameplay is fantastic step up from my last video card (Geforce4 Ti 4400) and overclocking is guaranteed with this card (of course how high is based on luck of the draw). With my new cooling solution and overclocking, I still don't break 60C even under load, and I have also installed the Omega drivers as opposed to ATI drivers, and they seem to have a definite impact on game performance, so any interested ought to check those out as well at least for comparison. Overall, this card is a fantastic value and for those on a budget, I highly recommend this video card.

5 out of 5 eggsGrrrreat

Pros: great card- BF2 max on any high resolution (with dynamic lighting and shading turned off - its really bad looking without SM 3.0) Wonderful getting REALLY nice OCing - 16 pipes unlockd out o the box, great fan.

Cons: im OCed to 535/550 right now - after about an hour of playing on 540 core - Catalyst control Center shuts down my games and says the GPU doesnt repond to driver commands. Nothings wrong with the card, perhaps its my drivers - but if theres a way to fix it smeone let me know.

Other Thoughts: Fan is relatively quiet even at 100% (i use it at 90%)

5 out of 5 eggsIm a happy dude.

Pros: -Great card
-plays half life 2 on max flawlessly
-VIVO is cool, but i cant get my Xbox to play through it propperly.
-Makes my life better ...?

Cons: -I cant seem to get the VIVO to get my XBox to play through it without either 1. not showing up at all, 2. A full one second delay. 3. The "No Signal" message across the screen.
(if anyone knows how to fix these, post a way please)

Other Thoughts: The mother board I purchased has only 2 pci slots, and they are so close to the pci-e-16x port that if i put my sound card in, my video card would have not breathing room. Be carful how you set up your rig.

2 out of 5 eggsdidn't work

Pros: Great specs and good reviews helped me decide to buy this board

Cons: Did not work with DFI lanparty nf4 Ultra D. It would work in 640 x 480 mode, but would die after the ATI drivers were loaded.
