Fabricated around the next-generation NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTX GPU core, the PNY VCG8800XXPB PCI-E graphic card is nothing but brute power. Designed to appease the most demanding of the pros, this "graphic machine" is ideal for ultra-high end gaming systems. This high-performance card features full DirectX 10 support and Shader Model 4.0 for the ultimate in graphic realism. Boasting of 768 Megabytes of 384-bit GDDR3 onboard memory, it sports a revolutionary new NVIDIA unified architecture with GigaThread technology. This ensures hyper-realistic gaming and movies with ultra-smooth playback. Some of the other noteworthy specs of this card are 575 MHz core clock speed, 1800 MHz memory clock speed, and 1350 MHz Shader clock speed, all of which come together to provide an almost surreal gaming experience.
The NVIDIA Lumenex Engine delivers stunning image quality at ultra-high frame rates. Quantum Effects Technology processes simulated physics right on the GPU and frees up the core CPU unit for superior gaming performance. PureVideo HD Technology offers true high-definition video decoding to yield unparalleled and accurate video and color. OpenGL 2.0 Optimizations and Support ensures that it is compatible with a wide variety of OpenGL applications. The VCG8800XXPB is SLI ready, and hence you can pair two of these super-GPUs in one gaming system, and set the benchmark for pro gaming.

wholy pixel pushing batman
- Pros: amazing, it is fast as heck, i have tested it with oblivion and neverwinter nights 2, maxed out all the settings and played on a 57 inch dlp at 1920x1080 and it was smooth as butter. i have also tested it in 3dsmax and Maya and so far so good. needs a little work on the drivers i think but all in all it is fast and the image quality is superb.
- Cons: character shadows need a little work in the drivers i think but as much good as there is what little bad that can be found is quickly overlooked
- Other Thoughts: my motherboard only has 2 pci slots and this card in all is beefyness covers one of them up. but it's worth it.
All that and more
- Pros: I'm not a gamer, I do 3d modeling in 3dsMAX and ADT. This card has increased productivity in two ways; FAST/SMOOTH performance in shaded or hidden 3d modes is seamless and it's been more stable than either my soft-modded quadro 4000 or my Quadro 3500. Install was a breeze, it fired up on the first try, I OCd with Ntune and I have not looked back.
- Cons: It is a bit spendy for the average gamer, but is far more cost effective than any "real" 3d modeling solution that I would consider.
- Other Thoughts: I was originally going to build a new system with this card, I stuck it in my modeling system just to be sure it was not DOA, the improvement was so radical that I decided to put off the upgrade until the 45nm intel parts are available at a reasonable cost... maybe longer.

This beast will not die
- Pros: Will handle everything thrown its way. Although still a [G80] core it will perform as well a any [G92] core currently marketed.
When first released I could not justify the price~599...give or take a few. All I can say sometimes newer [G92] is not always better. However this is subjective to users needs and rest of the hardware in computer.
- Cons: Huge, comes with handle that I needed to remove so it will fit in case. Heat, excellent airflow is a must as good aftermarket H/S/F. Originally price was a major factor, now it is not. Newer versions have great price point too.
- Other Thoughts: Specs:X3210 Quad@3.65ghz/AC Freezer Pro
P5K Premium/WiFi/4x1Gb GSkill F2-6400CL5-1GBNQ EVGA 8800GTX 768mb 2x36Gb WD Raptors Raid0/WD 80gb sata Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Fatality Extreme Gamer Lian Li Pc-7B plusII/PC Power and Cooling 850 SSI Turbo Logitech Z-5500 5.1 speaker system
I had a MSI NX8800 GT OC 512mb [G92 core] that came with excellent aftermarket cooling I purchased here at the egg which is a great card but the GTX blows it away, not just benching but in real world use. I purchased the GTX for less than the MSI expecting similar performance with the new die shrink and newer Ddr and PCB revisions but alas the GTX more than held its own. I see some new cards released newer GTX but I personally have not tested any. All the newer cards look great on paper but real world performance is well real world performance. The new ones are 448 bit or 512 bit which will make the difference providing newer up to date hardware is used. Prices are real competitive too.
She's a champ.
- Pros: This card is a brute. From the moment you get the box until you are running Crysis at very high settings you know you have something special.
- Cons: It only comes with drivers fro Windows XP Pro and Windows XP Pro 64 bit. No vista drivers included, but they're easily downloadable from the nVidia site. So do yourself a favor and update to the latest drivers right away. Course, thats pretty much any video card. Obviously with the high quality this card is very fragile, and if you dropped it you would be out of luck.
Tons Of POWER
- Pros: This card takes anything you can throw at it. If you want to be able to cut down the North Koreans in Crysis at very high settings, than this puppy is for you. From the moment you open the box until you're doing it, you know you are looking at something high end and special. Also runs Vista Ultimate with no lag lol.
- Cons: When you pick this card up it's obvious it's not just very complicated but also very fragile, and if you bumped it, nicked it, or dropped it, you'd be out of luck. Handle with care.
- Other Thoughts: If you can spare the cash, it's the latest and greatest, and considering what it can do, I don't see why you'd even want to try SLI-'ing them because I don't see the bang for the buck.
