5 out of 5 eggsI wonder.....

Pros: BFG tech support is good. I currently have a 6800 Ultra OC and it has been an exceptional card. I want to get a new card....but see cons...

Cons: I'm wondering if I buy one of these cards, will it be a trade up card? It seems by what I'm reading that these are used. What does BFG do with the traded in cards? I want a new card.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Card!!!

Pros: Very good card. I did not purchase from NewEgg directly, I went to a local reseller where it was a bit cheaper (even with tax). The card performed flawlessly. Crysis on very high, is just freaking amazing. Way better than my two 7900GS's running in SLI. lol.

Cons: Kinda big, but not really a problem for my case. Just something to note, there is less than an inch separating the back of my video card and my hard drive bays.

4 out of 5 eggsGood for the price.

Pros: The performance cannot be beat for the price of the card. The card runs smooth and I average 120 to 180 FPS maxed on call of duty 4. You can un-cap the FPS for the game and the game looks even better then my 8800 GTX was able to make it.

Cons: COOLING system that comes with the card SUCKS; I have so many issues trying to keep this card cool. I normally over clock but because of the constant heating issues I have not been able to do so. I had 4 120mm fans blowing on the side of the case that each put out 110 Cubic Feet of air per min. That’s 440 CFM air blowing on the card and it was not able to cool it enough until I took off the useless heat sink and fan. All there was just a paper thin card and a aftermarket cooling fan.

Other Thoughts: The heat sink and fan that came with the card sucks and you MUST have extra cooling to prevent the card from locking up or you won’t have a card for long. Please get extra cooling or water cool this card if you wish to buy it. When they said it cools better than the 8800 is just B-S, spend the extra money for aftermarket cooling.

5 out of 5 eggsI'm happy with it

Pros: Works. The casing for the card is really nice--I like the way the power and audio connnectors (for HDMI) are easily accessible while the card is seeded. No such "sauce" or any other substance on my card. BFG Reps actually monitor their feeback/reviews.

Cons: Non thus far. I was concerned as others were/are of this "resealing" claim as mine had been resealed. The actual retail box's shrink wrap even looked re-wrapped (like in-store style wrapping). I was assured it was opened for testing, but I'm not entirely sold.

Other Thoughts: The BFG Rep I contacted (via email) was very pleasant and helpful--he also has a genuine interest in customer satisfaction. Since I know BFG reads these reviews, I certainly hope there is some investigation of why one of their testers appears to be eating on the job--not cool! (Second hand knowledge coming from other reviews, not mine.) This is not my first BFG card and will not be my last. I am happy.

2 out of 5 eggsOh by the way.

Pros: Card Performs great for being used.

Cons: I pruchased 2 cards, that were both in this used condition.
BFG thinks just because they have a lifetime warranty on these, that they can sell them in this condition. If you call up to complain, they give you the ,"oh well it has a lifetime warranty so don't worrie about it" thats not the point, it is lieing to a customer about a product being new. You wouldn't go sell a car to someone and tell them it is brand new, no one has ever drove it to them, then wrap it up and deliver it after driving through all terrain course, and leaving it all dirty with mud all over ,and garbage inside, leaving it dirty and no longer in new condition. Just my addon to my last review as I ran out of space.

Other Thoughts: I recommend getting either EVGA, being they have the same warranty. Possibly XFX and or PNY. In that order. They all have the same cards, so really your buying the company and there service, which was the only thing BFG had going for me, until now. So Lifetime warranty with a company that actually gives your a new card is a bit more appealing.

2 out of 5 eggsTo BFG or not to BFG, that is the question.

Pros: Well, I have always recommended and purchased BFG Technologies products for everything, their support and cusomer service is usually the best, cards perform great and usually have minimal problems with them in the past. I Will no longer be doing so, nor recommending anyone buy one of theird products ever again.

Cons: Well cards came in srink rapped packaging, when pull out of the cardbaord insert, i see the anti static bag is all wrinkled, the bag has been resealed, and closer immediate inspection of the cards show dirty finger prints and and deep scratch all over the card. As well as duty and dirt particles. When contacting BFG, the support rep was not really helpful, which is not usual, but then again it was a night person. They basically told me that BFG does not open any package, i'm the first person he has talked to that has had this problem. He said, " Sound like your reseller repacked these items" I find it highly unlikely that newegg would do that. Also after a few minutes he was getting annoyed with me, and was just like "what do you want me to do about it", if the cards don't work RMA them ,otherwise have a pleasant night, "click". I have really lost faith in BFG's prodcuts, although they offer a Lifetime warranty, i think they are using that as an excuse to pass of used cards.

Other Thoughts: CARDS do work and perform normal, but these cards are not new, even if noone ever used them, new condition is a product that has been untouched and has not visible wear on them. I am a technician, i've seen what used a new parts look like, a lot. I would say these cards were used in a computer for at lease a week or two, before someone sent them info a trade up, and then at which point I believe BFG repackaged them. The excuse that the QA dept inspects the cards before shipping is a lie, why would BFG have to open and reseale theird own packaging, when the get these cards from the NVIDIA Manufacture, they come in oem packaging in huge lots, then BFG puts stickers on them for branding, then packages them. Also if these cards were inspected by QA, that person must have been eating pizza with greasy finger prints, and must have dragged the cards about 5 to 10 feet down a concrete floor, then crushed the anti static bad and shoved the card back in. WHALA, NEW PRODUCT!

Manufacturer Response:

We appreciate your feedback and apologize that the card you received was not in perfect condition. The reason that the static bag was resealed and the card looks handled is because BFG overclocks these cards after they come from the factory, and once they pass our testing we reseal them and pack them up. We can assure you that this card was not a Trade Up card, and we are taking active steps to ensure that all cards leaving our facility are in as perfect condition as possible.

3 out of 5 eggshmm...

Pros: after one month, the card does still perform wonderfully with old and new games.

Cons: in my previous review, i wrote that the card's electrostatic bag had been opened and sealed again and it may have indicated that the product was not brand new. and then i went on to say that the card itself had visible SMEARS AND SCRATCHES on the plastic casing, which definitely convinced me that the card wasn't brand new from factory.

BFG has responded saying:

You may notice that the anti-static bag that your new
card is packaged in has been “re-sealed” with a second sticker. This is normal and simply means your card has been
inspected by one of our technicians prior to shipping.

ok, since they've used the phrase "your new card" in their reply, i'm guessing they either didn't read the part of my review where i said that the card had SCRATCHES, or they're telling me it's normal for their brand new cards to come with visible smears and scratches.

Other Thoughts: just curious as to why a packaged and sealed graphics card brand new from factory would need to be inspected by a technician after the fact and then put back into the bag and resealed over the old seal.

in all honesty, i wouldn't have minded it one bit if bfg had a note in the box or somehow informed me that the card's condition was not exactly brand spanking new but it had been inspected and will perform identical to a new card, especially with their life-time warranty.

but it does bug me to think bfg tries to tell me that the card, in fact, is brand spanking new with smears and scratches and a resealed bag, and that i am simply stupid to have thought otherwise.

4 out of 5 eggswhat is BFG doing?

Pros: plays my games at max, bf2,bf2142,cod4,ddo

Cons: What is bfg doin? my static bag was ripped and the old sticker was replaced with a new one, I thought maybe they are trying to be green and reuse bags....untill i look at the card it had finger prints and sratches, and to top it off it had some kinda of red sauce(spaghetti) spot on it. if were getting peoples old trade up cards we should be told, Ive always bought BFGfor years, howver this is my last BFG card due to some shady doings.

Other Thoughts: none im done.

5 out of 5 eggsYippie

Pros: Everything!

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: Big card and just barely fit into my Gigabyte Aurora case. And I mean tight! Had to wiggle it around for five minutes, and now it's about 1/8" from the HDD frame. It's quiet and runs cool. Tried the fan at 50% and still this card is quiet. Runs CoD2, CoD4 and FSX with no problems. I am using the 174.74 final driver release.
