XFX and NVIDIA's main goal with this card is to put DirectX 10 capabilities into the mid range buyers' hands. Like all members of the 8800 family, the new XFX 8800 GTS 320MB graphics card shares all of the same features as the 8800 GTX and GTS. The funny thing is, with a little overclocking magic, this 320MB card will actually perform its more capacious big brother.
This amazingly talented card features :NVIDIA unified architecture with GigaThread technology; Full Microsoft DirectX 10 Shader Model 4.0 support; NVIDIA SLI ready;16x full-screen anti-aliasing; True 128-bit floating-point high dynamic-range (HDR) lighting; NVIDIA quantum effects physics processing technology; Two dual-link DVI outputs support two 2560x1600 resolution displays; NVIDIA PureVideo technology; PCI Express support; OpenGL 2.0 support; and NVIDIA nView multi-display technology. This is close enough to the "bleeding edge" of video card tech to keep the real game geeks happy, and still stable and powerful enough for the graphics guru trying to get the most from the system!

Incredible
- Pros: I've been an ATI user for over 10 years. I've always had reservations of going nVidia due to image quality. My fears are laid to rest. This card is incredible. It's a replacement for my Radeon 1600PRO 512 that burned out. The frame rates in BF2, BF2142 have easily doubled. I didn't realize what I was missing. Action is incrediblly smooth and the image quatlity is great. Star Trek Legacy also has improved. The game is easier to play to to the improved frame rates. DVD playback is on par with ATI.
- Cons: The picktures miss represent what I got in the box. I didn't get the HDTV adapter and only one of the DVI converters. I don't really need either but they would be nice to have. The card is long. I had to move one of my hard drives to make room. If you have a mid sized case you may have to arrange things to make it fit.
- Other Thoughts: Many people complain about driver issues. I had no problem with the install. I removed my old ATI card and software. I installed the 8800 with the latest software and it works the first time. I even have an ATI HDTV Wonder and the two play nice together.
Awesome Video Card!
- Pros: While selecting components for my new system, I decided to go with NVidia's SLI technology. After doing my homework, I zeroed in on a pair of XFX 8800 GTS. All I can say is WOW. Silent, extremely powerful video cards that need room to breath. Did I mention these cards are fast? My case has an unusual configuration - the power supply sits on bottom of the case. Therefore, the two 8800s sit at the 'bottom' of the main chamber. I has some concerns about heat... with the case's two 120 mm fans pulling from the top and rear on low speed, software reported mid-60 c card core temps. One more low speed fan with deep dish blades pulling from the front knocked the temps down considerable, even when aggressively gaming. Fast, fast, fast. No problem configuring SLI, just take your time and read the manuals. Oh, by the way, the cards are wicked fast. I suppose I could pull a few levers and give overclocking a shot, but why? These cards just fly.
- Cons: I can't stuff a third XFX 8800 GTS into my system.
- Other Thoughts: Newegg rules! Everything delivered as advertised in perfect shape. Antec Performance One P180 Silver, Antec TP3-650 Power Supply, ASUS Crosshair, AMD A64 X2 4800+ Low Wattage, Zalman CNPS 9500 AM2 CPU Fan, Corsair Twin 2X2048-6400C4, Two WD SATA 500G HD (RAID 1), Dual XFX GeForce 8800 GTS (SLI Configured), HP 940I DVD Burner, Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty, Altec Lansing FX-6021, Sennheiser HD 555, Pro-Gear Multi-Slot Card Reader. Tripp-Lite Smart 1200LCD. Samsung SyncMaster 204BW. Recaro Profi SPA Seat w/ Sparco 3-inch 6 point lap harness. Why take chances?

Nice Budget Card
- Pros: Pretty decent card for the money. OCs very nice, got mine running at 650 core, 990 memory. Temps are around 60-65*C at load, so no too horribly bad. Plays Call of Duty 4, HL2:E2, Oblivion, Lost Planet at 1680x1050 (22" widescreen) at max settings with decent, playable frame rates.
- Cons: Temps were pretty warm on the GPU (70*C+) until I added a fan to my case. My case has some vents next to the Video Card slot so I just jury-rigged a fan onto that vent and now it runs fairly cool.
- Other Thoughts: Kinda wish I would have gone with EVGA for the step up feature they offer, but I didn't learn about that until after I bought this card (of course).
Excellent Card!
- Pros: No problems installing card. Great performance for price.
- Cons: ntune crashes when I try to read card temps. This could be a problem with my driver or motherboard?
STOP - - Don't Buy!
- Pros: 8800 GTS 320 "was" the best performance for price.
- Cons: XFX customer service is horrible. The don't offer a step-up program, like EVGA. Buy from EVGA, don't ever buy anything from XFX.
8800 GT is double the fps for less of the $$$!
- Other Thoughts: XFX doesn't offer any sort of trade-up like EVGA. I should of researched this prior to buying. I have a card that is $50 more and half the fps of the 8800 GT and I'm stuck with it.
