5 out of 5 eggsDon't think twice

Pros: Very fast. PCI express 2.0. Cheaper than most 8800 series cards. Great performance. Couldn't be happier. Plays crysis fine 1440x900 on high.

Cons: None at all. No sticker on the card like most. JK.

Other Thoughts: I don't know what other reviewers are talking about not being able to play crysis. I played crysis on high at about 45-55 fps. granted I do have an asus p5e intel x38 MB, e6750 @ 3.0,4 gb OCZ @ 900mhz. I just dont like those who review who make it seem impossible to run Crysis. build a better machine. Also I bought this because it was the cheapest hd3870 at the time. Compare all these 3870's most are the same barring different stickers (same copper heatsink, red plastic design).

5 out of 5 eggsBest bang for your buck

Pros: Overall a great product. Very perfect. No problems before, during, or after the build process of my "client's" machine. Absolutely ecstatic about this card and it's performance capabilities.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: ECS KA3-MVP, Athlon X2 4800+ Brisbane, WD Raptor 150 GB, Antec Nine-Hundred, A-Data 2x1GB DDR2-800.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card!

Pros: Great card all around. Ready for PCI-E 2.0 and built with GDDR4! Overclocks well. Runs CoD4 great!

Cons: Current price. This thing should only be about 200-220 bones.

Other Thoughts: This card is great. Outperforms its old bro 2900 by quite a bit while taking less power. Get one. Compared to 8800GT it is much better deal.

5 out of 5 eggsOk, here it is

Pros: This card

Cons: Higher priced cards

Other Thoughts: Go to this ati.amd.com web site to get your hot fix for crysis.
. This web site will help with the hot fix and give you details on how to set up catclyst to make crysis work pretty well. 50 mb's and it reinstalls catalyst, so maybe you should download everything here from jump street. You'll be amazed at what it does. Search for the tricks to set up catalyst and you'll be glad you got this card.

5 out of 5 eggsnevermind

Pros: clock speeds, GDDR4, 512mb

Cons: Crysis

Other Thoughts: I determined that if you just want a rig for Crysis....get a sli set up. Nothing will work for that game except 2. It works ok, but outstanding? Nope, takes two. If you don't care to get crysis, then you will be well off with one of these!! Crysis maniacs must have two of anything really to play to full potential. This card will hold you over til technology catches up with crysis, eleviating the need for two hot *ss cards running in your rig. Peace out, all is not lost. If your rig takes these 2.0 cards then they'll catch up.

5 out of 5 eggsPrice is right

Pros: pci-e 2.0, speed

Cons: Knotheads

Other Thoughts: I got catalyst to come up and now this card is rocking! I had to buy Crysis to see what the hype is about, and it runs real well! smooth frame rates and I'm glad I saved $100! It's a keeper!
Don't let others steer you away from this or the newer ones yet to come out. GDDR4! WOW BABY! If the prices are $100 less compared to the others, you will not regret it one bit!

5 out of 5 eggsVery good at high res

Pros: Run COD4 at 24" 1920x1200res everything at max and 0AA with no problem.

Cons: Strangely with my old 20" 1680x1050res it run the game poorly, seeing jumping screen during play. Maybe ATI need to fix it's driver at that resolution because they have some problem runing that res on COD4. Overwise, I have no problem with my new 1920x1200 screen resolution at all. The problem might be the 20" 8ms vs 24" 2ms response time, but I"m laggin at 1680x1050 and not at higher resolution. Got to be the driver problem.

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't return this card anytime soon seeing how it can handle higher res flawlessly. Great midrange dollar per performance card.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: This card will run everything i own on high at 1920x1080, full HD westinghouse 37 inch monitor that i also bought from newegg, on my primary. TF2 never drops below 30 FPS when on my old x1950pro it would drop into single digits sometimes. Bioshock smooth as silk. Crysis on all high (not ultra) at 1080p with 17-25 FPS, and with motion blur enabled it seems silky. UT3 on max is 40-50 FPS. COD 4 runs incredible well holding close to 30 FPS at 1080p with no hiccups.

Cons: Havent found any yet. Although with stock fan settings this card gets hot, real hot. Set mine for 75% all the time cause i got so many fans in my case it already ungodly loud, and now runs at the same temps as the old x1950 pro with a zalman cooler on it :)

Other Thoughts: System is a AMD X2 3800+ OC'd to 3.4 GHz. ECS RD-480-a939 Mobo. 2 gigs ddr 400 MHz mem. 1 TB of disk space over four drives. Now with this new HD 3870, replacing the old x1950 pro. Displaying to a 37 inch 1080p monitor and a 19 inch monitor at 1440x900.

4 out of 5 eggs*Whoa*

Pros: Pci-e 2.0, Gddr4, The clock speeds, the number of stream processors....and the price compared to competitors.

Cons: Downloading the drivers. What a mess they were for some reason. Got it finally, but still can't get catalyst to come up.

Other Thoughts: When I went looking for a gpu I compared to the other guys. I just could'nt pass on this with the clock speeds the number of stream processors and price and GDDR4? WOW BABY! Vista rates it 5.9! Uses less power then the other brand, not as heavy and my case will keep it cool. *Antec 900 case; Asus M3A mobo; AMD 5600 cpu; Seasonic 500w psu; 2Hd's raid 0; liteon dvd and kingston value ram pc6400. Vista rating all around 5.9 except for cpu which is 5.3 stock speed. Everyone else told you "fps" stats, don't need me for those. $100 less for what this does is a bargain people! Compare on your own.
