1 out of 5 eggsIt died on me.

Pros: None

Cons: It died on me about a year after I got it and after trying to contact cooler master 3 time's I gave up. I still have it sitting in the box.

The worst part is, it took out my Asus Republic of Gamers MB, and the Ram I had installed on the MB. So it pretty much took out 700 bucks worth of my gear. I also could never get the MB returned as back years ago Asus didn't seem to care much about it since I told them when I took it down to the PC repair shop I was told it died due to the PSU and then I was told by Asus that since it failed due to another component in my PC it couldn't be replaced..

Cooler Master has good CPU Coolers and Cases but I wouldn't trust there PSU's ever again. was never able to post this before, but now that I am using newegg again I figure I would let others know about my $700 blow up...

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Battl3fr0nt,

We sincerely apologize for the trouble you had with our power supply. Would you be able to give us a call and dial extension 602 so we can get this situation rectified? The power supply carries a 5 year warranty. We would like to troubleshoot and recitfy the situation by replacing the power supply.

Respectfully,

5 out of 5 eggsAfter 5 years heavy use..

Pros: Lots of power, quite (see comments) many connection options.

Cons: the octopus of cords can make cable management tricky especially in cases that are cramped for space (eg Antec 900)

Other Thoughts: I purchased this psu as part of a new system build in....march of 2008. It powered my q6600 and dual 88--GTS 512s, all fans in the antec 900 plus a cooling tower, AND everything else with no issue. It did this job quietly for 4 years when i upgraded everything..except this psu. It now powers a core i7 , and 680gtx in my HAF somethingsomething case (read : many fans)

the psu has seen near constant use - much of the time under load. no issues..until recently.

some months ago i detected a strange humming sound emanating from my case - turns out it is the psu. it is anchored firmly and i blow it out about once every 6-12 weeks - normally not tonnes of dust. this past week the sound has become much louder and i suspect that perhaps the bearings are starting to go..or something.

After 5 long years of intense use it may be time to replace. If this psu came in a fully modular version i would not hesitate to buy again, nor would i hesitate to recommend it to friends/guildmates.

5 out of 5 eggsBest power supply I've ever had

Pros: Great power supply.

Cons: There are so many power cords that it can get a little tight in there.

Other Thoughts: I've been using this power supply for years and it is hands down the best I've ever had. I'm writing this review this late simply in case people are wondering if they should get a CM power supply. The answer is yes.

5 out of 5 eggsStill chuggin'!

Pros: Solid, steady power

Cons: Non modular design. There shouldn't be a non-modular PSU being manufactured.

Other Thoughts: Bought this in 2009 with the rest of my PC at the time. I have since upgraded my PC, but I have always used thsi PSU because of it's solid performance and reliability! I just wish it was modular.

5 out of 5 eggsPower and reliability in PSU form

Pros: I have had this running my rig almost 24/7 since November 2007 without a single issue, and from the look of things it will continue to work through my next upgrade. There isn't much to say about this other than it has performed admirably, even with newer hardware. Cooler Master has won over a loyal customer with this power supply.

Cons: Size, which is a given and not worth removing one egg from this product.

5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong!

Pros: I have never had one problem with this PSU. It is a rock. It has served me well.

Cons: I have never had an issue since i took delivery on 9-7-07.

Other Thoughts: I am in the process of building a new Sandy Bridge PC and was contemplating the thought of using this PSU, but I have decided to upgrade to a 1200 unit.

1 out of 5 eggscooler master warrantie is awful

Pros: it worked for about 2 years , when it failed it didnt damage anything else.

Cons: warrantie policy of this company is very bad. This item cost close to $200 but they will send you someone elses item back if you send it in for warrantie , the item you get back will be scratched up and dented , and packed in a way that it could get damaged more.

Other Thoughts: I bought this about 2 years ago and it failed. Sent it back for warrantie repair and they sent me someone elses back, one that was scratched up and dented case, the shipping box had 2 pieces of brown paper in it also.
I will not be installing this into any of my computers, its just not worth taking a chance.
I will not buy anything from this company again, there warrantie policy is awful just like there products.

5 out of 5 eggsEnduring

Pros: bought this about 2-2.5 years ago, was running asus p5k64 ws motherboard, core 2 duo 3ghz, Evga geforce 8600 GTS super-clocked, originally 4 80 gig hard drives then added another one later, asus cd/dvd burner, 4 gigs of corsair ram, all in a antec 900 case, powered everything well then when the geforce gtx 260 came out got that and stuck it in and it still powered everything (almost maxed out though) recently replaced the motherboard and cpu.

i run my computer 24/7, it only gets turned off maybe once a month and only for one night then back on, for 2.5 years! under stress the whole time, and finally a week later after my upgrade it died mostly, i had to unplug all the fans to get it to turn on. i have to say im impressed it lasted this long, put a meter on it once to see how much power the computer was drawing, it was about 800 watts

Cons: the only complaint i have about it is all the cables, hard to organize and almost impossible to hide and there not very flexible either, which might be a good thing

Other Thoughts: i might open it up and try to find out what exactly what went bad on it, if i find out ill post again
