Forget The Dual Core M2 Hype !

Pros: Excellent processor at an unbelieveable price. I paid 3 times what it's selling for now about 8 months ago. Does what it's supposed to. Great performer. Forget the dual core/ M2 hype. There's not even any programs or games written for them yet! For a c-note this cpu will last you for quite a while.....

Cons: Absolutely None!

Other Thoughts: Newegg is still the best at what it does. They had this part on my doorstep in two days. Ordered on Wednesday. Received on Friday. Up and running Friday night..

Great performance

Comments: Another wonderful AMD product. This processor uses the fairly rare Venice core, which means slightly more performance for slightly less heat. I actually have had mine running for about 4 months on a passive heatsink with absolutely no problems.

When Windows Vista comes out, this product with it's 64bit architecture will already be set to take complete advantage of Vista's features.

Great for gaming. The AMD64 series seems to be the best processor for HL2 and CS:Source. Intel procs can't even come close to the performance this thing puts out for the money.

Pros: I bought this processor a year ago when it was more than double this price. I am still playing all the latest games and having no problems. Totally reliable been running nonstop for over a year with no problems.

Cons: Not dual core. When I try to encode a DVD and play a game...well it doesn't happen. One thing at a time with this one.

Other Thoughts: If I were building a computer today I would not buy this I'd buy a dual core processor.

What a nice little proc

Pros: Great speed increase from the old 1.2 GHz Thunderbird that was wasting away in my old Antec Lanboy case. Coupled with a BIOSTAR TForce6100-939 motherboard and a stick of 512MB Pqi Turbo PC3200 RAM this proc is a big, yet affordable upgrade. Socket 939 was a much easier install than the "break yourself" socket A that AMD gave us half a decade or more ago. Retail version comes with a good heat sink and fan so do yourself a favor and save the $35 more you'll pay for an after market job and OEM processor (unless you want to overclock of course).

Cons: Doesn't have two cores. Of course, it was less than half the price of my dual core 4200+ that runs the same clock speed, so who am I to complain?

Other Thoughts: I'm running this very stably on a BIOSTAR TForce6100-939 motherboard and 512MB of Pqi Turbo PC3200 RAM. I'm upgrading to 1GB of RAM this month. Do yourself a favor and do the same.

Pros: Runs cooler than I expected and does everything I want it too do.

Other Thoughts: Installed it in my shuttle computer with no errors on boot up, runs very cool.
