5 out of 5 eggsFAST!!! Overclockable!

Pros: Overclocked to 3.74GHz (233x16)
Runs at safe temps
No need for Core 2 Duo with this overclockable joy.
I will try to go up to 4-4.5GHz and see how well it does.

Cons: Heatsink/Fan a chore to install

5 out of 5 eggsOk

Pros: None

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Just wanted to comment on what Dan said about, this CPU would own the Intel Core Duo. Are you an idiot? My C2D X6800 2.93ghz would kick the hell out of your Pent. 4. Get a grip, and get your facts straight.

5 out of 5 eggsTerrific Upgrade

Pros: Significant performance increase over the Celeron D 2.53 I replaced. Stock fan is easy to install on the motherboard. Lots of bang for the buck.

Cons: Not a dual core processor but I didn't want to replace the motherboard.

Other Thoughts: Easy, cost-effective upgrade if you're running a first generation socket 775 board with a Celeron processor

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Upgrade from 478

Pros: My old mobo died and along with it, my Prescott 3.0E. Purchased this along with a Gigabyte Mobo and it dropped right in and runs like a charm. Great upgrade for me.

Cons: Stock heatsink fan is a bit weak, I used a Gigabyte G-Power Lite.

5 out of 5 eggsSave the best for last!

Pros: This should be the last in the long line of P4's. I own several installed on different MBs. They all are rock solid stable and cool. I have one on a Foxconn MB running over 4 Ghz with Cooler Master heat sink and the Foxconn utility reports a 27'C idle temp. It seems like it will go much higher.

Cons: It's too bad this chip is at a dead end. A 4Ghz version of this could blow away the Core Duos.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cheap chip

Pros: Works perfectly out of the box.

Cons: HSF that comes in the box uses an aluminum core. Intel is keeping the good copper core ones for the Core 2.

Other Thoughts: Doesn't run too hot, and it's fast enough to serve as a backup box or cheap gaming rig CPU.
