Kingston ValueRAM 1GB (2 x 512MB)
- Pros: I added this memory to an old Dell Dimension 4500 and it works great. Huge improvement over the 256 with which it came.
- Cons: Would be nice if it was a little cheaper.
- Other Thoughts: Kingston rocks.
Quick and easy
- Pros: Simple to work out the compatibility with this ram, just did a little research on my mobo since I bought my system from a friend and he had no idea the specs of his components. My machine is 3-4 years old so I played it safe bying this pair of 512 mb, matched the number specs and I just perfermed my first install.
- Cons: The ram is considered plug and play but who knew the plug part is the most painstaking? This being my first time opening a pc and installing components I had a hard time getting the ram cards in the slots, I was trying to be carefull and not force them in too hard but these babies needed quite allot of force to get them to click but maybe that was due to my MSI mobo...
- Other Thoughts: This was my first Newegg purchase and already I understand that I can't afford to go anywhere else. Knowing nothing about installing components I found most of the information I needed right here on the site not to mention good pricing and fast shipping.
