5 eggs
- Comments: This RAM works perfect on my ASUS A8N-SLI. Ofcourse, you must manually set the timings and the voltage(to 2.75v). Just read on...
(From Corsair FAQ) Your motherboard's Auto setting will use the SPD-programmed timings. That means, at DDR400 speed, the Auto setting will use 3-3-3-8 timings due to the fact that the 3200C2 modules use JEDEC-standard SPDs.
(Straight from Corsair FAQ) The CAS 2.5 setting is for AthlonXPs only. CAS 2.0 is for Athlon64s and Intel setups, regardless of when they were made, or what the version # is.
CAS Latency (tCL): 2 RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3 Row Precharge (tRP): 3 Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6
Memory Voltage: 2.75 Volts They are guaranteed up to, but not over, 2.9 volts All other settings to defaults.
Runs exactly as advertised. I definitely recommend buying this RAM.
Be Aware!
- Pros: Good memory for the price. Was able to set mine to 2-3-3-6 T1 and all works well. To get dual channel, make sure you put the modules into the correct motherboard slots.
- Cons: Be aware of revision numbers!
This was my first step into using dual channel memory. I recently ordered all the parts to build my own pc and ordered this memory to give me 1Gb. My plan was to build the PC, have it working for a while and eventually, when budget permits, to purchase another 1Gb.
I have since found out that this is not a good idea.
- Other Thoughts: Each pair of this memory (and I assume other makes are the same) have a revision number. Despite the memory being identical down to the make and model, pairs of dual memory with different revision numbers MAY NOT WORK TOGETHER.
Also, when you put 2 lots of 2x512 dual memory in your PC, the stepping or speed of the memory will likely DECREASE.
If you plan on having 2Gb in your PC, then order 2x1Gb. The memory will be faster than if you purchase 2 lots of 2x512Mb. If you do plan on the latter, then make sure you order the 2nd set of 2x512Mb within a reasonable time frame so that the revision numbers are more likely to be the same.
I have been so used to ordering whatever memory I can, whenever I wanted too. I did not even consider the above.
Corsair has an excellent support forum for issues.

Corsair RAM
- Pros: Corsair made their RAM Extremely well. I have owned this product for about 2 years now and it has never so much as hiccuped. Put it through silent hunter 4 with a 7950 and the worked fine. They never heat up and they are high performance with a CAS of 2. Through mem torture tests they never heat up an they never fail. I have these with an ASROCK Dual SATA 2 motherboard. In this motherboard they have no problems running single or dual channel modes.
- Cons: None, I am planning to buy 2 more of these abby's
- Other Thoughts: Great product, great deal for DDR I would recommend corsair ram like this although their newer performance RAM is getting sketchy as they are using cheaper modules.
2 years now and back for more
- Pros: No problems ever. I bought this in March of 2006 and here it is 2008 and I am back for more. A gig was more than enough 2 years ago but pushin it now. everything has been replaced in my machine since I built it in 06, except this RAM. That should tell you something.
- Cons: The only problem Ive ever had with this memory is not having enough. One gig just does not cut it with BioShock and CoD4. I borrowed a gig (of this same memory) from my wifes computer...Every game runs beautifully. 2 gig is the key
- Other Thoughts: Not in stock anywhere just doesnt work for me. When I find a winning combo I like to stick with it. Im running AMD 2.4ghz socket 939 (I am stuck on this for some reason), NVidia 8500 GT, FoxConn board, and 1 gig Corsair XMS plus one borrowed gig of XMS. I need my own pair. Almost everything I bought was here, from NewEgg. Probably one of the best companies to deal with in person or on the Net.
GREAT BANG FOR BUCK RAM
- Pros: No problems 2 years straight, fast memory for what it is, faster than the more expensive ones of the same type. Took to extreme overclocking like a champ.
- Cons: No Cons whatsoever.
- Other Thoughts: Chances are in today's day you'll be needing 2 gigs at least.
