Good, but not that good
- Pros: The unit itself is of good quality, seems to be built well. It works well and looks good when installed* It comes with a USB2 adapter (extension) in case your motherboard doesn't have a 4 pin USB2 plug on it. The 5.25" adapter is the main reason I got this unit.
- Cons: The mounting screws supplied were not deep enough to mount the unit to the 5.25" bay adapter!!!! I had to totally rig it and do some off the cuff installation to make it work. Very, very disappointing. I would not recommend this unit to people who expect an easy install, unless I just got a defective batch. Either way, it was a huge pain in the rear.
- Other Thoughts: The unit does what it's supposed to do. It reads cards well, it works quickly, it's attractive and of good quality. It would have gotten 5 "eggs" from me if not for the horrible installation problem.
- Pros: The 5.25" drive bay adapter is the primary reason for this product purchase. Installs via an available USB 2.0 header. Installation was a snap.
- Cons: Cable is too short.
- Other Thoughts: Quick shipment from Newegg, as always.
