3 out of 5 eggsMixed feelings

Pros: I've owned this drive for 10 years now. It has incredible performance (though at this point its storage space pales in comparison to even the lower end of SSD's)

Cons: The tab that holds the sata cable in place is garbage. It broke. This made me angry. They were not willing to warranty it despite the fact that several other people had the exact same issue.

Other Thoughts: Workaround was to use a hotswap bay, any sort of backplane makes the tab a non issue. However this requires buying additional hardware for what was essentially a design flaw.

5 out of 5 eggsStill running

Pros: I leave my PC on, almost all the time. I've had this in use since 2005.I use this for games i want to load fast. And until I can get a 500g SSD, I will continue to use it. Honestly, one of the best HDD ever made.

Cons: Loud, hot.

5 out of 5 eggs"They Die to quickly" 2004+

Pros: Has been a fantastic hard drive, tonight I have dressed it up and made it look pretty as I send it off. Purchased in 2004 this drive is still going through numerous machines. Still will not die, I finally removed it out of my case, NEVER FAILED. It now deserves to sit on a silk pillow on top of my new PC.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsBest HDD

Pros: Been running strong for 8 years. I wish HDD's were still the build quality.

Cons: Maybe a little loud? But who cares? 8 years of stellar performance out weighs any "cons."

Other Thoughts: Go back in time to 2004 and buy a few; you wont regret it.

5 out of 5 eggssweet drive

Pros: Ive had this since 2004 or 2005. This thing runs like a champ was super fast for the time, but now its a little slow with SDD and sata III.
so i put it in a HDD case and its my back up drive for my PC.

Cons: Not current tech old but man back in the day it rocked.

5 out of 5 eggsThe first beast.

Pros: I purchased this on 2/8/2005. Seven years later... it is still going strong and has never given be one problem. I moved on to SSD but I will hold on to this marvel until it dies. What a piece of engineering.

Cons: Heh?

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing...

Pros: This drive is still going strong after 6 years... I am absolutely amazed. It outlasted a 200GB Caviar SE which died after 4 years.

It has been on for probably 90% of the hours over 6 years and seen dozens of reformats/reinstalls/etc... couldn't be happier with this drive.

Cons: Well... it is almost a 7 year old hard drive; it is now old tech. My 500GB Caviar Black drive (7200rpm) is noticeably faster than this older raptor.

Other Thoughts: This is the drive that sold me on buying high quality WD drives. Raptors are losing their place, since SSDs are starting to come down in price. However, their Caviar Black line is awesome in its place - I will be purchasing WD for a lonnnnnnnng time thanks to this drive.
