5 out of 5 eggsFrom XP to 10, Decade later, still crunching

Pros: Has been oh so solid for the 10 years I have owned it. Used for the most part as an OS drive. Been through numerous wipes, partitions, and moves (3 systems and physically). Most of its life has been going for 24/7, and never been off for longer than a weekend every once and awhile. It has out lived 3 other drives that acted as storage only, and 1 backup drive. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that it was still for sale when I looked up my order to see when I purchased it. For less than what it costs now.

Cons: Slowly the SMART fitness has shown that its fitness is getting lower by the month. Looks like it may be getting about that time. Getting ghosted to a SSD, and then held onto for preservation.

Other Thoughts: This drive is a beacon of what hard drives SHOULD be. My first build 10 years ago started with this drive, my current builds backbone is this drive, and it still solid. A bit louder than it was when it was new, I think this drive will be a good image backup drive from now on until death.

5 out of 5 eggs8 years of continuous use and counting

Pros: This drive has been in my PC for almost a decade and has never given me a single problem. I miss this level of build quality. My newer Blue drive is giving up the ghost after just 4 years of continuous use.

Cons: My Toyota will probably outlast this hard drive... barely

4 out of 5 eggsPrice ???

Pros: Has worked for 7 years.Yes, 7 years.Flawlessly.Now,when I try to do any kind of data transfer, she's clicking like a turn signal.Bad sign.Luckily,I backup data FREQUENTLY and have two more drives.Unfortunately,my OS is on this one.UGH! Anyway,in 2008,I paid $69.99 for this, and now it's $146.89 ???Same model, same make(I clicked the link in my order history because I was planning on buying another) and same everything.I think I will just buy an SSD now,as they are comparably priced to this.I just don't get the price,as I know I for sure didn't get a $70.00 discount when I bought this.

Cons: Price ?

5 out of 5 eggsWow

Pros: Bought in May 2006. Moved 6 times since then to different states. Drives are still going strong. Very happy with this purchase.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: When these were bought, they were pretty decent storage size. Time to shop for bigger drives. I will not replace these until the new ones prove they are just as good.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Drive

Pros: Ordered 4 drives on my last personal build back in May 2007. Today August 2013 one drive has failed. It lasted 6 years 3 months, others still run great!

Cons: Didn't last forever.
