Last Seagate Drive I will buy

Pros: This drive did not die on my after 31 days like the last Seagate drive I bought. Drive is operational after repair.

Cons: The cooling fan in my external enclosure made weird noises, then a clack sound, and then the drive stopped responding and the enclosure was quiet. This fan, which I can stop with my finger, smacked into a diode on the PC board of the drive and knocked the diode clean off the board. Yikes! I had to figure out how the diode went on the board and re-solder it on ever so carefully.

Other Thoughts: The drive works, but unless you feel like soldering surface-mount components onto your hard drives, avoid Seagate
