5 out of 5 eggs244T

Pros: This monitor doe's the job for gamers. No lag,no ghosting.Fast refresh rate.Beautiful picture.Photos and games look great.

Cons: Could be a little easier on the pocket

Other Thoughts: I do not know why people blame some equipment for bad performance due to the lack of the perfomance that feeds into it.If you have a high end machine this monitor will produce.Bigger monitors are video card hungry. It's alot more pixels to fill and refresh.I have a Evga 680i motherboard,2x-8800gtx ultra video cards sli,4 gig of corsair dominator ram and e6850 cpu overclocked to 3.6,this monitor rocks with this setup.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's great!

Pros: Well, it's really big, bright, and beautiful. I can't notice any dead pixels.

I have played some movies on this monitor and they look great. Even Half-Life 2 looks great.

Cons: I'm not sure if this is the monitor or my video card, but HL2 is a bit laggy and has some sheering and tearing. I'm thinking because my video card (radeon 9800 pro) probably has a hard time with the 1920x1200 resolution.

Other Thoughts: I'd like for the USB ports to not be on the side, but since I don't use them, I guess it's not a big deal.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat monitor

Pros: Have had this for roughly 4 months, I use it mostly for gaming (all genres) and a little for movies. Can't beat the specs, can't beat the price, can't beat the performance... SAMSUNG really made a fan out of me with this one. Refresh rate is great for FPS, gives good peripheral vision.

Cons: Wish I'd bought their 30'' (maybe that's next ^^)

Other Thoughts: You'll feel like a fighter pilot the first time you get in game with this thing on - no joke.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Choice

Pros: 1,000:1 Contrast Ratio, HDCP Compliant, Bright vibrant colors, fast response time, large screen, No ghosting noticed in fast paced games or fast action movies.

Cons: No HDMI port

Other Thoughts: The fact this monitor has no HDMI port is a small price to pay for such a beautiful monitor. The colors are rich and vibrant any text is sharp and clear. I purchased this monitor and bought the XBox 360 HD-DVD player to plug into my computer and with a HDCP compliant videocard and HDCP compliant monitor the HD movies look just as great on this monitor as they do on my 60" LCD. This monitors had my games and even my current pictures look stunning. The details in games and images really come out and are very noticeable. Overall very impressed. Item arrived with zero dead or stuck pixels.

5 out of 5 eggsWish I could afford another

Pros: Rediculous size. Crisp text and images with a wide view angle. Has just about every input type you will need for the next few years. Swivel, tilt, and rotation don't feel clunky or cheap - very sturdy construction. Nice and heavy base (no fear of it toppling if bumped).

OSD menu is cake to use.

Cons: Slight input lag, but that is to be expected (especially if you read the other reviews). Would not recommend for gaming where precision timing counts (FPS).

You need around 10 inches of clearance for the base just to have it on the desk unless you wall mount it (not a problem for most). Make sure you can fit it along with your other peripheral.

My personal monitor has a weird backlight bleed right through the middle on the right side, but can only be noticed on pure black screens. 0 dead pixels so no returns for me :)

Other Thoughts: I personally would prefer the usb ports in the base vs. the side of the monitor, but by no means is this a show-stopper.

This thing literally feels like it's engulfing you when you first start to use it.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent HiRes Monitor

Pros: For photography purposes the 244t-BK took quite a while to calibrate properly but the end result is excellent. This monitor has no dead or stuck pixels and there is no input lag using the DVI-D input with included cable. The display is incredibly sharp. I'm very satisfied as I got more than I thought I was getting.

Cons: I don't have two of them. There is one small nit. I use WinXP Pro and once the monitor went into standby and would not come back on. I had to do a reset to the computer. This has only happened once.

Other Thoughts: I am not a gamer but I have GTR2 installed and the display was crystal clear and I did not notice any any ghosting. Remember my sample of games here is one. YMMV

2 out of 5 eggsSamsung 244T Horrible Response Time, Not good for Photoshop or GAMEs

Pros: Great amount of inputs, wide screen, and high resolution. USB / cable management and portrait capabilities. If it were not for the response time, I would have giving this monitor a near perfect ratting.

Cons: Horrible input lag, tried, 5 mice (Microsoft Inteli Mouse, Apple Mighty Mouse, Apple Standard Mouse, Razer Diamond Back, and finally a Logitech G5) and several mouse pads. Also tried several graphics cards, and 3 operating system. Vista, OSX, and XP. Also tried on 3 computers, MacPro, Dell Inspiron 8000, and an HP Pavilioin. Also tried with 3 graphics cards, 7300GT, X1800Xt, and an X1900XT. This monitor seemed like a good buy for all the features, but with a bad response time its worthless. Also posterization on this monitor is very bad, especially with greens and colors not within its color gamut. Took several attempts to color calibrate to Gamma of 2.2, Color Temp of 6500K, and Luminance of 120.

Other Thoughts: Photoshop, Lightroom, and general web browsing took much longer because of having to compensate and/or over correct for input lag. Games were just as bad, under bootcamp with VISTA. Half Life 2 and UT2004 had a few millisecond input lag, no matter what the res or setting.

Ended up buying and Apple Cinema HD 30inch Display. For the record I can run HL2 at 2560X1600 with AA @6 and AF@16 with everything on max on my ACD without a sence of input lag. With vertical sync enabled you get 60FPS on the ACD.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor, but a couple nits to pick

Pros: BIG! I had to move my computer off my desk to make room for it.

It has wonderful color and crispness, amazing brightness and not a single bad pixel.

Cons: I wish I could adjust the height a bit lower and/or tilt the monitor so that it aims downwards.

Light objects moving over a darkish background seem to overcompensate and there's an almost black ghosting as it transitions from light to medium.

Other Thoughts: Not a single bad pixel, though obviously YMMV. The ghosting I mentioned probably wouldn't be noticeable to most people but i have very sensitive eyes (I can easily pick out color wheel DLPs).
