2 out of 5 eggsIt was good for a While

Pros: The light scribe feature was great for labeling song tracks and even putting background .bmp images on DVDs. It worked quickly and well with the included Nero software.

Cons: 6 months later: The lightscribed text on a disc is barely visible. It has almost completely pooped out. It has also begun to spin and not read program/music cds and locking up computer.

Other Thoughts: To sum up. Great at first but disappointing in the (not so) long run. I suggest avoiding this brand.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Excellent price and it fit right in the PC. burns a decent Lightscribe image.

Cons: does not have a very long life span. 120 lightscribe discs later and 6 months from purchase, it failed.
Never seems to be in stock since i bought it.

Other Thoughts: this is the second Lite-On burner that has failed on me, this one in 6 months, the other in a month. might be time to change brands.

5 out of 5 eggsLite-On Rocks!

Pros: Very cool drive, I've used the Lightscribe ability more than once with good results. Very pleased with it.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: It took me almost a decade to finally upgrade to a DVD-drive, in that time period they have perfected the DVD drive, made it completely affordable, and even packed in the ability to burn images onto disks. Amazing!

5 out of 5 eggsgood drife

Pros: pretty good speed, fairly quiet, and i like black.

Cons: none really, it looks great in my case!

Other Thoughts: itunes won't recognize it when i try to burn, but it will when i'm ripping. i don't think this is an issue with the dvd drive, though. i think my multiple virtual drives conuse itunes.

5 out of 5 eggsReliable burner

Pros: Works great for burning, have not noticed any particular difference between various brand cd/dvd + or - media (some drives are picky) As far as I can remember the only coasters it has made are all OS/resource related and not the drives fault.

Works flawlessly during "normal/basic" computer usage. Much more reliable than previous burner that was a no-name black Friday rebate special

Cons: These are only issues I've seen, but they are more likely software or resource related:

often makes coasters when using Nero if the Verify disk feature is selected or deselected during burning, but I'm also using an old 6.x version of Nero

Tends to make coasters a little more often if burning was initiated through Remote Desktop, but RDP does other little weird things to the system...

Other Thoughts: Very pleased with drive quality and price. Although purchased specifically to have LightScribe feature, I have yet to actually use it on this particular drive. It's great that DVD burners are so cheap now as compared to say CD burners 6 years ago.

1 out of 5 eggsStill Workin Good

Pros: Ive had this for almost 1 year n burn allot of dvds n sum cds with it n use the light scribe allot n still working fine... only giving a low rating because i always look at the lowest first...

Cons: light scribe gets faint after awhile and allot of use... but thats just assumed after it gets too faint im just going to get the 20x the from lite-on... ive got the 52x cd-rw in my comp... n the 16x dvd-rw

Other Thoughts: only some of the drives are lemons im assuming... because ive used mine allot... but over all its a great dvd burner assyuming u get a good one and have a good mobo i got a abit mobo wit a amd 3800+ even though its a outdated socket... and 2 gigs of ram... and im running with barely enough watts from my psu probably too... 3 hdd on a 430 antec true-power and thinking about using my sli but would need another vid card and psu...
