The Zalman CNPS 7000B Cu, is a sculpture in copper. It features a quiet, downward blowing 92mm ball bearing fan at the heart of a radial array of copper convection fins, creating a thing of beauty. While it works at a low 27.5 dBA in its normal 2600 RPM setting, its Silent Mode drops it nearly 50% to 18 dBA as well as eliminating vibration. The included FAN MATE controller lets you control the fan's operating mode. With its unrestricted flow, it cools not only the CPU, but the RAM, VGA card, Northbridge and other nearby components.
Heat is drawn away from the CPU by the pure copper base of the heatsink and it is transferred up into the twin semi-circular arrays of aluminum and copper fins for dissipation. The 7700B AlCu is only 2/3's the weight of the pure copper model which eliminates the possibility of stress damage to the motherboard. The 7000B Cu is compatible with Intel Socket 478 Pentium 4 CPUs but can be used on Socket 775 processors with the purchase of the ZM-CS1 Clip Support. It will also support a wide variety of AMD Duron, Athhlon and Sempron chips straight from the box.

Check MB before ordering
- Pros: I've had one of these in my old system for some time and I love it. I brought a new one for my new system and I can't use it.
- Cons: I can't use it on my new ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe Socket 939 MB. The config for this cooler for the 939 uses a backing plate. This MB already has a backing plate bonded to the board, so the one for the cooler can't be installed.
Works great, had it over a year now
- Pros: Great CPU Cooler
Running AMD 2800XP OC'ed to 2.36 and it runs 38c Idle and 42c full load. the highest I have hit is 45c, but thats when the room is hot
- Cons: My system:
Demon Case
Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe
Geforce 6800 GT AGP oc'ed 412/1.11
Athlon XP 2800 oc'ed 2.36
1gb Samsung ram running @ 196mhz
Cheap 120GB HD
Maddog 550 power supply
5 case fans, 2 which are vantec tornado
Nexus fan controller
- Other Thoughts: Not loud. If it was I would never notice with my 2 tornado fans. I took fan controler off because I never used it anyways. Not too big and easy to install.
