Enough is enough
- Pros: Reasonable price.
- Cons: Way too noisy. After six months, I had had enough and ordered the Cooler Master SAF-B83-E1. By comparison, the Cooler Master is almost silent.
Goldilocks would buy this 80mm case fan
- Pros: Some fans are too noisy and some fans don't move much CFM. After comparing, my opinion is this Antec 2 ball case fan is the 80mm case fan of choice among single speed case fans. It's a 2 ball, and the clear plastic is stronger than some fans while pleasing to the eye. The install is easy and all the parts are there.
- Cons: It is easier to install if you thread the screws first to work the thread groove into the plastic before you install the fan inside the case. Cable ties are necessary to keep long power cords out of fan blades. Thank you to reviewer who told me that "front" of the fan is the way the air flows. Then you only have to install it once.
- Other Thoughts: If it is not too loud but not so low wimpy that it fails to cool, then it wins my Goldilocks award for being "just right". What else is there to say about an 80mm case fan? I read for a week then bought 2 other models to compare but will stick to this one in the future when I need another 80mm case fan.
Great fans!
- Pros: - Double ball bearings keep my system quiet.
- The high CFM is welcome. - Since they are from Antec, you can expect the highest quality.
- Cons: - None
- Other Thoughts: I had been using the fans that came with my case for over 3 years and until just recently, had not given second thought to the quality of my cooling. Finally, I decided to give my computer a good cleaning and to my surprise, a few of the fans were seized up while the others spun at very low RPMs. Once I installed these fans, my component temperatures dropped between 3 and 17 degrees Celsius.
