Creative's Inspire P7800 supplies powerful 7.1-channel surround sound at an entry-level price. The set features six matched satellites with each sporting 2.75-inch drivers for a full range of well-rounded audio in a compact package. The center channel speaker has added power to tackle today's challenging cinematic audio from movies and games.
All of the satellites are backed by a powered subwoofer with a 6.5-inch long-throw driver with a flared port that pumps deep bass notes throughout the room. Built in a wooden cabinet for sturdiness and improved resonance, the subwoofer also features a convenient auxiliary input for listening to an MP3 or music player while gaming and an upmix which converts audio from 5.1 or 6.1 sound cards to 7.1 audio.
A wired remote control can be set anywhere on your desktop for quick adjustments of volume and bass levels and includes an integrated headphone jack for those times when private listening is necessary.

Nice sound for modest price w/ the features most needed
- Pros: Speakers have a rich sound to them, amazingly, for the price. Upper mids are clean highs come through just missing a tad of sparkle, low lows are rich though lack the punch of expenise sets (don't fret, the woofer is nice) and lower mids are flat, but this combo is great for gaming and rock.
Wired Remote has Click on/off/volume dial and a bass gain dial and 1 headphone connector so that speakers go off when plugged into (a nice feature).
Woofer has a second STEREO 3.5mm input for any auxiliary device (I have my XM Radio plugged in to it).
Woofer has wood construction and is nice for price.
Wires aren't bad, just could be better (see below).
7.1 Really does work in some games and can upmix using upmix of Creative Labs cards (there is a 7.1 upmix switch on the woofer that has 5.1 to 7.1 / 6.1 to 7.1 / straight through, which I found to have some effect for real.
Does not distort noticeably. Has fair to good power for average bedroom/office where a person doesn't nee
- Cons: Upper mids dominant which might not meld well with all listeners, but I think it's ok. Satellites only single diaphram ea. (no mid & tweeter combo) but that would really push the price up, so... Remote does not have an auxiliarry connection on it, only the woofer (so get an extension cable and a male to 2 female Y adaptor).
Wiring is FOR CREATIVE LABS SOUND CARDS; however, you CAN use it on other cards and motherboard on-board sound setups, see below.
Wires for rear speakers could have been 15-20 ft. longer, all wires are long, but you will need extensions if you want to mount speakers on walls in the right places.
Creative Labs never replied to my emails about issues/questions, so caveat emptor.
- Other Thoughts: THIS IS IMPORTANT: *IF* you plan on using the 7.1 capability and *don't* have a fairly recent Creative Labs SB Sound card, your gonna have to buy some cables, but it is EASY. I can't believe NO SITE, DEALER, Creative, NOWHERE explains this explicitly: Woofer sound in connectors are: 1 female 3.5mm for ctr/woof, 1 fem for Fr. L/R, 1 fem for Side L/R, and 1 fem Rear L/R, but included cable has only 3 3.5mm plugs on sound controller end (2 of them have a 1tip/3ring configuration) so, for on-brd sound, buy yourself 4 pcs. Stereo 3.5mm phono jack 12ft. male/male cables, otherwise it will only work in stereo with included cables. Creative DOES NOT SELL needed cables for us, but these are cheap, you can get them for less than $4 ea. I would have rated spkrs higher were there a better fix.
7.1 cables
- Pros: great sound, LOUD!
- Cons: i havent had a good relationship with my neighbors once i got this product.
- Other Thoughts: To anyone that is having the problem of the 7.1 cables not being true 7.1, there is an easy fix. Go to your local radio shack and buy a male-male standard 3.5mm cable. Plug in all the wires except the one for the side speakers into your subwofer and plug in the 3 connectors on the other end. At this point you have 5.1 surround sound. Next use the 3.5mm male to male wire and plug in one end to the side speakers slot on the subwoofer, and the other into the respective slot on your sound card, problem solved, with a mere 5 bucks

Great computer speakers
- Pros: Sounds great for a great price. I use them in my living room connected to my htpc for movies and tv. Makes listening a lot nicer than just 2 speakers off the tv.
- Cons: Cords could be longer..
- Other Thoughts: Can always get extensions to wall mount them. Newegg cable prices are tons better than retail.
Excellent Speakers
- Pros: Great sounding speakers. Very loud when turned all the way up. I can notice that some games take full advantage of these speakers such as Hitman and Max Payne.
- Cons: After 2 years of owning these speakers my subwoofer went up. I am now trying to find a replacement subwoofer.
- Other Thoughts: Don't hesitate, buy these speakers, you won't regret it.
SWEET!
- Pros: SOunds really good in movies!!! Music is pretty good, haven't tried games yet. Really easy access to turn on and off and volume control.
- Cons: could have a little longer cords,
- Other Thoughts: if your gonna spend money on speakers might as well buy this instead of a 5.1 because it's pretty much same price and this is more next generation proff.
