Pros: Great performance with DD-WRT installed. I used the firmware files recommended by the DD-WRT database; however, they are obsolete and according to the dd-wrt forums and one could use the newer firmware that has been posted.
Wireless N performance rocks in regards to speed (especially at 5ghz), and wireless G works just fine, even when streaming HD and SD movies over the wireless N network.
Cons: Despite the great performance with dd-wrt, the wireless n at 5ghz has a limited range, as others have stated. It is good enough to reach my living room from my bedroom for watching Netflix via Roku, but the signal strength is roughly 35% according to dd-wrt's firmware website. I have yet to test wirelss G at any decent range, but from my living room it is roughly 4 out of 5 bars in Windows 7 on my laptop.
Other Thoughts: If you do use dd-wrt, please make sure you follow the instructions by flashing the *.chk firmware first through the manufacturer's website interface, and then flash the *.bin file through the dd-wrt website interface.
If you only flash the netgear wndr3300 with just the *.chk dd-wrt file, you will get the dd-wrt interface and setup; however, your nvram (where your configuration is stored) may become corrupted. This is why it is important to flash the *.bin file once the *.chk file has been successfully flashed.
I have no problem ordering refurbished products (some have worked better than new). New Egg is the best, I order on Monday (I think) and it was delivered by the next day. New Egg rocks!!!!!
I give this router four eggs, because of the range for N being limited, especially within a 700+ sq/ft apartment. Other than that it works fantastic with DD-WRT.

Does not work well with Netgear firmware, seems to work with dd-wrt

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Inexpensive. Seems to work well after installing dd-wrt firmware. Regardless, it is only getting 2 eggs. This thing really should work with NG firmware.
Cons: As the review title states, there is a problem with the default NG firmware or the latest version. It worked well for the first 3 days I had it, then I started having connection issues. The connection would drop, pages would half load, sometimes I could not ping computers outside of my home network, sometimes I could, etc. I did some basic troubleshooting and determined that the router was the issue (I also bought some new NICs). I called up Netgear and the guy I talked to said that I would have to pay for support despite my "limited warranty." As someone else said, it is very disappointing that to Netgear re-certified = they take your money, laugh at you, then try to take more of your money.
Anyway, installed the dd-wrt firmware and things are looking up.
Other Thoughts: Netgear support is outsourced overseas.

performance update

Pros: With latest ddwrt and 30/30/30 before and after, it works without dropping signal. Avg 5.6mb sustained large file transfer at 270 on N now. 4 days up and no service interruptions for anyone.
Cons: none now.
Other Thoughts: Many of my devices would not see the router on N or G without setting the channels lower than 12. I ended up having to use 10 and 8 to get everyone to connect. But at least now nobody gets knocked off when someone answers a phone call or changes the channel on the tv.
