2 out of 5 eggsNot recommended

Pros: The unit is great for viewing and navigating your ipod while driving. The screen is clear and the buttons mimic that of the ipod's controls
Cable are long enough to mount screen/controls just about anywhere in the car

Cons: Sounds horrible. I bought the transmitter that plugs directly into the radio through the antenna port and still sound like a cheap $20 walmart fm transmitter.

Other Thoughts: I bought the unit because I cannot get a direct Ipod adapter for my car and will lose the functionality of the factory DVD player if I replace the head unit.
Looks cool in the car but would not recommend to someone who is looking for a nice sound from their ipod through the car radio

5 out of 5 eggsharman/kardon Drive and Play

Pros: Use the direct line in if you want exceptional audio.
Just pass on the FM modulator
DP1US Drive Play is compatible with all iPods with the doc connector for playback

Cons: It will not charge iPod's after 5th generation iPod
The system will charge all iPods except the 4G Nano, 3G iPhone, 2G touch and 120GB Classic

5 out of 5 eggsWell worth the $15.00

Pros: I've been wanting to play my iPod in my car for ever. Short of buying a new stereo head-unit that's iPod compatable, this system is a great alternative - especially for the discounted price. Completely controls iPod thru a fairly intuitive joystick controller and display. Great sound when tuned properly.

Cons: Maybe difficult for some to install the antenna modulator. It's necessary to pull the car stereo completely out and install the modulator in-line with the car antenna, and then route the wiring.

Sometimes its tedious finding a radio frequency that doesn't have a broadcast on it during my entire commute. Good news is...is that the unit allows for tuning up and down the entire FM band - not just limited to a handful of freq's. like other units.

Other Thoughts: Internet was a good resource for me in locating directions/schematics for stereo removal and re-installation. Took me about an hour for dry installation - and close to three hours for a clean final install.

3 out of 5 eggsOk but not perfect

Pros: It will play your ipod through your car stereo and allow you to control what is going on.

Cons: The FM modulator is not very good and tends to over-amp your signal leading to distortion. There is no menu selection for Podcasts. The interface is a little quirky but is usable.

Other Thoughts: Well worth the low clearance price but you will know why it's on clearance.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Experience

Pros: Great sound quality, looks good, clean installation.

Cons: Menu navigation, need lots of planning to install.

Other Thoughts: Do not buy this and use the the FM transmitter. If you want an FM transmitter buy a cheap $20 model from Target.

The real beauty is if you install this using the hard wire connection. Sound quality using that method is perfect.

It took me about 4 hours to install. But I've also never installed anything in my life (not even a stereo). It took a lot of planning to find the right place to mount the controls and screen and run the wires without being seen. I'm not sure I would trust an 18 year old kid at Best Buy to it. Each car is different and they tend to apply force to fix everything.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrid

Pros: Looks good.

Cons: I had this thing put in my car by best buy and the first time i had it put in there was something wrong, the second time there was something wrong and the third time there was something wrong... thank the heavens best buy has life time warranty, i went to 2 different best buys and at both places they said that these things suck and just to get a new head for my radio that is ipod ready. So thats what i did and im happy now i suggest you do the same or atleast try something well known..

Other Thoughts: DON'T BUY, it just looks good.
