It is not surprising that a company that makes great monitors would make great televisions. The X32BV Naga+ is proof that the theory holds true. This 32" set supports all HD resolutions up to 1080i and computer resolutions up to 1366x768. The panel has a 178° viewing angle so everyone in the room has a great view.
With a TV this good you want to plug everything you can into it. Sceptre lets you do just that with 2 HDMI, 2 Component, 2 S-Video/composite and a VGA port. There is also a coax in for your cable TV connection. The built in digital tuner ensures you are ready for the switch to digital broadcasts.
A picture this good should be up where everyone can see it. You can hang it on the wall with a 100x200mm VESA wall mount bracket. Or, it will look good on any entertainment center. The bottom mounted speakers minimize set width for an easier fit.

Solid TV
- Pros: Fairly easy to set up. It has a good on screen menu and the user manual make learning anything you want about the TV easy and quick. It has a multitude of connection options and connection slots, I've not had any trouble using the HDMI, TV, component (RCA) or VGA connections. Switching aspect ratios (widescreen vs normal) is incredibly easy and fast (at least compared to the much larger samsung I have used).
This TV doesn't try to figure out what type of input is being sent to it either (black bar detection and such), which I consider a pro, because every black bar detection system I've used has messed things up in some way. That might not be such a pro if it didn't have such easy aspect ratio switching.
Lastly, I was surprised at how good the built in speakers are. I wouldn't say buy this TV because of the speakers, but if the TV arrives before your speakers do, you really might not care very much. Their volume range is very good and everything is fairly clear.
- Cons: It takes a long time to turn on, somewhere between 15 and 20 seconds after pressing the button. After that it's responsive though. It also doesn't automatically detect what is hooked up to it (which could sometimes be a pro, for troubleshooting reasons) which makes switching between inputs take a while sometimes.
The included remote isn't very responsive unless you press the buttons all the way in. I'm used to more sensitive remotes that I don't need to do this with, but at least no buttons are going to *accidentally* be pressed.
Note: I have not used a universal remote with this TV, so I can't tell you how easy it was to set that up.
- Other Thoughts: It says it does 1080i and 1080p, and it does... kind of. When I used 1080i or 1080p inputs (PS3) I couldn't get widescreen. This is probably because of the TV, because on true 1080i and 1080p systems I don't have that problem. However, I find that just fine, because 720p looks very good (at least on a TV this size).
Most of my usage of this TV has been the PS3 (G od of War, Heavenly Sword, Soul Calibur), the performance of the TV when it comes to movies might be a little different. However, I did not notice any ghosting or lagging when playing those very high speed action games.
- Pros: Good video quality, decent sound.
- Cons: Takes about 20 seconds to turn on.
Also it has a red light on when it is turned off, not anything big but it does bug me.

Good picture but problems with HDMI ports
- Pros: Good picture quality and price.
- Cons: HDMI ports do not work or work intermittently.
- Other Thoughts: I got this TV on sale on Newegg for a good price and the picture quality and is good. The sound is good as well. The major problem with this TV are the HDMI ports. They do not work (most of the time). A lot of times when I plug in an HDMI DVD player or cable TV box it says no input signal - this happens on both ports and I have tried different cables. The things that I am plugging in work fine on another TV. Then at times the HDMI ports would magically start working again. I contacted Septre about this and they want me to ship the TV to them at my expense. I don't think I would be buying another Septre product anytime soon.
Not recommended
- Pros: Inexpensive
- Cons: Tv Tuner is very slow, built with inexpensive plastics, can expect from 1 to 7 dead pixels on your screen just short of being officially considered defective.
- Other Thoughts: I do not recommned this product, Newegg should NOT sell this product as it will have a negative impact on their reputation
my tv exploded and no longer works
- Pros: It worked good for a while. Good picture and sound until it exploded.
- Cons: I bought my tv about 2 years ago. One day i was playing my xbox on this tv i hear a sound like a fire cracker a small puff of comes out of the tv and now it doesnt work.
- Other Thoughts: I took the back off the tv (since i had no warranty left) I found a burn mark on the main circuit board.
