Pros: Fantastic price for all of the amenities of this board. Bios looks cool, but not as functional or straight-forward as some of the older ones I've worked with (either that or I am behind on what all these options are for--it is mentionable that I do not OC). Perfect for my wife's needs (WoW, Office, 1080P video streaming).
Cons: Bad A1 memory slot on the motherboard.
Other Thoughts: I bought this motherboard to pair up with an a10-5800K and match it with 8GB of DDR3 2133 (Gskill Ares). After seeing on first post that it was only registering 4096MB of RAM, but both dimms were showing up as full in CPU-Z, but running in Single mode after installing Win7 64-bit... Windows Profile said I had 8GB installed memory but only 3.17 usable.
I bought another set of DDR3 on a different site with prime shipping and popped them in--same problem. Only B1 slot will run alone. A single memory stick in A1 won't give me post.
I give it three stars because it is fantastic outside of this single defect (unfortunately a major one)...
Hoping the RMA goes smooth.
Pros: I already left a high-praise, 5-egg review... These drives are still working well--one went into a customer's Vaio laptop, another into a fresh PC build. No problems with the product at all, still impressed by the packaging and quality of the product, but...
Cons: DO NOT BUY IF YOU ARE BUYING FOR A REBATE DEAL. Kingston took two months to send me a postcard that declared my rebate invalid because the purchase was made through an unauthorized dealer. Either Newegg is being scheisty and advertising rebates that aren't authorized through them, or Kingston is naughty for obvious reasons. I mailed all necessary materials in on time and feel duped, because without the rebates these were just as expensive as faster SSDs.
Other Thoughts: At time of sale (September), the drives are only on par for the price range, and that's why I am docking eggs on this review. Newegg and Kingston should be ashamed to offer a discount via rebate when one or both of them know it will just be denied when the purchase is made through this web site. I've always been a Kingston fan but because they are usually budget products that work well, but not exactly the fastest stuff out there. No problem, but these are not (at least not in Sept. when I bought them) budget-priced without the rebate that was advertised with them, which puts them up against better/faster drives, which brings their score to just PAR... Three eggs.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: This unit has been kicking tail the last 5 days for a friend whose Dell monitor burned out last week and had nothing to turn to but a standard tube TV for a while. This thing was within her budget and I bought it knowing we could receive a dud, but even though its looks aren't exactly 2012 it is working great and displays a great picture for what it is. She just surfs and watches movies, so it's perfect. No idea what gaming is like on it.
Cons: The bezel looks plain and that's being really discerning.
Other Thoughts: As long as this thing keeps working well past my 30 day return window, my friend and I are quite happy with such a bargain of a monitor.READ FULL REVIEW
