Pros: Bought this for my parents since their old router was getting slow. To my surprise, it delivers exceptional performance and covers the entire 5,500sf house with no dead spots. Very stylish design as well.
I bought an Asus AC1750 with a Cisco .ac bridge a few months back when they first came out, but since my parents are not so tech savvy and they don't do a lot of video streaming or gaming, I thought I could find them something more practical and affordable.
After the item arrived, I quickly set it up (very straight forward installation), and thought I could run some speed tests. I was expecting something like 2/3 of my speed since this is a 867Mbps router vs my Asus at 1300Mbps,
However, the transfer speeds I am getting are very close and comparable. Do not understand why a 867Mbps router performs nearly as well as 1300Mbps, but I guess this has to do with the 2nd wave of the .ac products. I guess I should have waited a bit longer before getting my hands on new technology next time.
Cons: Green LED - I personally prefer the blue.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Linksys Wireless-N300 PCI Adapter with Dual-Band (WMP600N)
Pros: Needed to upgrade the company desktop with a 5GHz radio (less interference). Linksys was the first brand that came to my mind. Selective dual band with 300Mbps. Installation was easy, and the performance was pretty solid. Nothing to complain about.
Cons: Nothing really!
Other Thoughts: Since this product is based on the Ralink chips, I would suggest to install the latest Ralink drivers for the best performance.READ FULL REVIEW
