Pros: Rock Solid so far! Very impressed with the board!!! I expected trouble, but so far none. Price was fantastic too, for what the board capable of delivering. I use it as a rendering machine with a single Xeon E5 2680, so it's always on 100%. Each run takes between 3 to 15 days, so it's solid!
Lot's of connectivity and expandable. Use it with Win7 Pro 64bit and yes it's working flawlessly, although its only 1 CPU right now...
It can take many different kind of LGA 2011 CPU's even V2!
I like the board's load/heat balancing feature (1 cycle off every 1000) I don't know whether it exist with other manufacturers, but it can be useful.
Cons: I have to note that I'm less than impressed how these boards use a passive heatsink to cover the chipset. I actually burned my finger doing the first testrun!
Because I was worried that it might lead to instability I placed an 80mm case fan, blowing straight to the passive heatsink. It's cold and the board is stable! Also there are some misleading details on Asrock's website. There are webpages that notes it would work with Win7 64bit, but the online manual I believe doesn't mention it. Anyhow it does works although I only use 1 CPU right now.
Mine came with Bios 1.40 (Check if you plan to use it with v2 Xeons as they might required higher bios to work on!)
Other Thoughts: So far so good.
Win7 64bit Pro
Xeon E5-2680 with Evo 212 Cooler
2x4GB DDR3-1600 ECC REG Black Diamond Memory (They ran at rated speed as Xeon2680 will use DDR3-1600 at that speed!)
+ 1 extra fan oriented toward passive heatsink
This review is from: Optical Quantum 50GB 6X BD-R DL 10 Packs Spindle Disc Model OQBDRDL06LT-10
Pros: Pleasanlty suprised of it's quality. They used to be not worth a dime, but I guess quality came around.
Cons: Not cheaper, although I bought it with rebate, so Its well worth it!
Other Thoughts: So far burned 6, no coasters at 6x speed with an LG BurnerREAD FULL REVIEW
Pros: Cheap, bought 2
Cons: First one is dead after 3 Mo of light use. Developed bad sectors at NTFS Boot partition...
Now I have to ship it back, another 6$ to the final price...
