This review is from: Cooler Master NotePal CMC3 - Laptop Cooling Pad with 200 mm Silent Fan
Pros: quiet, good fit
Cons: blocks SD card slot
Other Thoughts: So far, so good. I've only had it running for a few hours, but it seems to be keeping my laptop much cooler. It is very quiet, nearly silent. My laptop's DVD drive is much louder than this unit. The only con I've found is the front lip blocks the SD card slot on my Dell laptop, but there's enough room to slide the laptop back from the lip to access the card reader.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Hauppauge 1229 WinTV-HVR-2255 Dual TV Tuner / Encoder
Pros: dual tuner, NTSC tuner, PCIx1
Cons: software, "support"
Other Thoughts: Hauppauge support is worthless. Installed this card and tried to install the latest drivers, which immediately caused my machine to BSOD. Upgraded Winblows XP to latest patches, still BSOD. "Tech support" says there is nothing they can do about it - they heard of a similar problem but "can't remember what fixed it."
I'm RMAing this thing for something that actually works.
Pros: Dual tuner, NTSC and ATSC tuners, PCIx1
Cons: Drivers are worthless. Driver installation causes BSOD on my machine with latest driver available from Hauppage. Without a driver, this is a worthless lump of silicon (not even good enough for a doorstop - too thin!)
Hauppage tech support has been unreachable thus far. IF they ever get back to me and IF they provide a solution, I will update this review.
Other Thoughts: I wouldn't give this product ANY eggs, but I'm forced to give at least one.
I had high hopes for this product, but I should have listened to my gut and gone with the SiliconDust HDHomeRun. Likes like I will be RMAing this card.
