Pros: Solid construction, decent performance.
Cons: factory image somewhat bloated, no Win 7 or Win 8 COA key/label
Other Thoughts: The system performs really well, now that I've replaced the stock boot disk with a Samsung EVO 250GB SSD, moved the 500GB boot disk to the second drive bay, replacing the optical drive with an OEM ultrabay adapter. Will upgrade RAM to 8GB or more eventually. I'd like to do a clean Win 7 install with license key extracted from system but have a feeling it not be allowed during activation. The system runs fine but the idea of over 110 processes just seems to bloated; my other Lenovo T61 (with clean load and only essential drivers, etc) runs at 75 processes.
I was concerned that the HD screen 1600x900 might now be bright or crisp enough and was ready to order a 1920x1080 FHD panel to replace it with, but the 1600x900 panel is fine; it's pretty bright seeing as it is an LED panel.
I'm happy I ought a T530 and not the new T540 - I don't like the new keyboard layout on the T540 models; the keypad is moved too far left on the T540 to make room for the new numeric keypad. I don't need a numeric keypad.
The laptop seems lighter than my old T61 but not flimsy. The system is designed to be repaired and serviced (unlike many new thin and light models)_ and the service manual can be downloaded easily from Lenovo.
I like that I can run either Windows 7 or Windows 8 on this machine given the timing of when I bought it. I'm not a huge fan of Windows 8 but like that I can run it if I want to. This model came with Windows 7 64 bit installed and Windows 8 restore disks. You can build recovery media from the Windows 7 install using a supplied utility and the optical drive. I chose to save a disk image of the Windows 7 install right away, that way I can aggressively remove bloatware and unnecessary Lenovo utilities without fear.
This review is from: Miele Olympus S2121 Vacuum Cleaner with SBD-350-3 Rug and Floor Tool
Pros: Powerful suction
Excellent build quality
Cons: too early to say
Other Thoughts: My wife loves it. We have a variety of concrete, wood, and carpeted floors, including shaggy-fringed throw rugs and close-cut runners. Throw in 4 different levels, (numerous step-downs to other rooms), and you have a pain to vacuum. That's why the absence of the beater-brush/power vacuum head on this model is a plus for us! I bought this blind, but had seen glowing reviews elsewhere and was not disappointed with this unit!READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Worked out of the box, so problems so far.
The UEFI bios is really nice.
Sleep works fine.
Nice feature set for the price.
Cons: I'm not crazy about the undersized board/6-screw design, although it has not created any problems. Be care when plugging in components/24-pin power connector.
Other Thoughts: i5-2500
