Pros: Fast CPU
High res screen
Cons: First unit came damaged and warped
Doesn't seem very sturdy
Other Thoughts: I purchased this laptop because I wanted a fast, super thin gaming rig with high specs. I personally wanted a Razor but they are a bit too expensive. The first unit I received had the dimple on the front of the unit that looked like someone hit it with a tack hammer. The unit was warped, wouldnt turn on. I contacted NewEgg, who were very helpful, and overnighted me a replacement.
The replacement unit came and has been fine so far.
I see that Gigabyte now has an explanation that the units were damaged in shipping. If that is true, as my box wasn't damaged at all, then the structural design of the unit is flawed.
Supposedly we now get a 5 year warrant on the unit, which is good. I also bought a 1 year accidental warranty.
The unit does seem flimsy. It could use some more aluminum or magnesium in the frame. I have high hopes for the laptop but I am afraid to really move it around anyways since it seems to flimsy.
I would not recommend this laptop right now because of these issues, even though it is fast.
Pros: Great price, decent power output. Love the modularity.
Cons: None so far, well besides it didnt fit in my case all that well, the power supply i had before was a bit bigger so i had to have a few of the screw outside of the regular case mounting holes.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Great card. Price is great for those of us that can't afford the top of the line gtx 580. Graphics look amazing even more so compared to my old evga 9800 gtx ssc. So far no issues in game. Might get a 2nd one in the future but i see that newegg is now outta stock on these or 2 more since i have a 3 x sli motherboard.
Cons: None so far, though I did have an issue with Win7 64bit updating the system rating. Not sure why, never had an issue with that before. I did unload the video drivers and did a clean install but for what ever reason my pc shuts off with the new card when it hits the Areo dx10 test.
Other Thoughts: I loved my old evga 9800 gtx and so far besides the weird win7 issue i encounter love this new one as well. I bought the card to play Rift on higher settings so that I could give my wife the evga 9800 gtx card I had.
Before i had my sittings on high but now i have them on custom ultra and haven't had any issues, the game looks amazing
