Pros: I've had to RMA two previous boards, a black one and a white one, both of which had bad DIMM ports. This one, however, works like a charm. I love the port covers and the overall look of the board. (I liked the looks of the black one more)
Cons: The back panel has one problem. There's a little tab on the ethernet ports that gets in the way of the cable lock and doesn't allow it to lock. I trimmed it away with a diagonal cutter and it's fine now.
Other Thoughts: Newegg really went all out to make sure I had this board overnight. I needed this machine for a weekend production and had it not been for Newegg bending over backwards for me, I would have been in quite a bit of hot water. Thanks Newegg, you really saved my bacon and you saved the entire production!READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: It arrived.
Cons: This is the second Sabertooth I've tried. The first one, which was black, would only allow one stick of memory. If I plugged in any more, it wouldn't boot. Tested each stick and all are good. This board doesn't like any of the memory sticks! Yes, before you say it, the memory is on the list of compliant memory.
Other Thoughts: Not that I'm special but I don't have time for this nonsense! This machine needed to be running THIS WEEK for a production this coming weekend. At this point, I really don't know what we're going to do! I expect a whole lot more than this from Asus. I've used their products for many years, but maybe this is the year I switch to someone else.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Easy install of drives and MOBO. Nice big window to see the work of art that is the MOBO, mem, and video card. Steel construction except for the front. Has a nice professional look.
Cons: On the window side of the case is a steel bar that goes from the front to the rear of the unit. On it is mounted a snap-mount fan mount. But there are three pieces of plastic that are grooved with teeth and are movable within their respective grooved channels. What the heck are those?! They're in the way of the video card! I had to take a hack saw to those just to close up the case.
The front door / face is held closed with two small, round magnets. They're so weak that the door / face opens if you sneeze next to it! Other than looking pretty, the door / face has absolutely no function and is just in the way. I'll probably rip that off before I get too frustrated with it.
It appears that there isn't a whole lot of cooling going on with this case. I expect temps to get pretty high in there. I'll test it a bit first but, if that does indeed happen I'll modify the window to accept a fairly large fan. In my opinion, that should have been done during the design phase of this case.
Other Thoughts: Overall, a decent enough case just not thought through very well. When you cut corners it shows.READ FULL REVIEW
