This review is from: Patriot PCUSBW1150 WI-FI USB Adapter USB 2.0 Up to 150Mbps Wireless Data Rates WPA2
Pros: Super small, able to use USB port right above it.On my 2007 desktop, plugged it in,put in 3inch CD, loaded drivers,it found wireless router, hit connect, connected in about 1 minute.Worked good in front or back USB ports.
Cons: Super small easy to misplace.Plug and play,to me meant plug it in and internal drivers loaded or windows would connect with out CD.Wrong. Must load CD.Does not say CD included in the ad.Would not plug and play in a Blueray player.Player would not load CD.Tried it in a 2003 desktop in another room.Realtech would default and windows would not connect, ever.Three and a half hours of trouble shooting everything 10 times realized it doesn't plug and play on the equipment I needed it to.
Other Thoughts: Anything that says"plug and play"and needs a CD to load a driver, needs" CD included in pack"in the ad.It was superb, better than expected in one of my computers.Just not the one I needed it in.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: BYTECC Firewire 1394A 3+1 Ports Low Profile PCI Card Model BT-FW310LV
Pros: No taxes or shipping.Less than a week delivery with five emails. It was what I ordered. It worked good with three different movie maker softwares.Came with two different card slot covers and I did switch out.Installed in less than five minutes.
Cons: Had a 3"driver CD that was not for the card I bought.Stumped me for a minute. No set up manual as said in the ad. It did come with a 1394 4pin to 6pin cord but it was real short. That wasn't advertised.
Other Thoughts: Why would I buy an i.Link card in 2012? I have a $1100, 10 year old Sony Digital/Analog Video camera that I will not let die.I have been going analog to digital thru old soft ware with good results.I finally read the manual and found that Sony did it in the camera and all you have to do then is get it in your computer with an 1394 cable. The results were incredible. That old fire wire will transmit data as fast as my hard drive will take it.(just as fast as USB 2).It was $20.00 well spentREAD FULL REVIEW
