Pros: - simple assembly
- quiet with GTX 980
- great thermal design
Cons: - garbage support for W10
- BIOS update is a mess and will brick your system!
(lack of info on web and support)
- anteana mounts on the back block USB ports and tend to loosen
Pros: - DESIGN / SIMPLICITY
- small, yet can pack very strong setup
- easy to configure as you want
i got mine as open box from here and saved big $$$
I did not want complete custom with random case, these look really nice and fairly easy to take apart and setup with parts you require. running i5 Haswell 65W and GTX 980 MSI. excellent rig for ULTRA on 1440p gaming.
Cons: - default fan exhaust / intake direction design
look up asrock m8 review on youtube, also on the vents diagram on airsick web. i've reversed the top fans to both blow outside, rather then one in / one out as it was by factory. definitely breaths better this way. was not able to fix the bottom fans that way. now runs stable.
Other Thoughts: ASROCK needs to fix the fan issues and optimize cooling with doing proper testing on cooling etc.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: looks impressive on paper
Cons: horrible LED backlight bleeding. got one in December, was waiting over a month to get mine serviced directly by ASUS. they tout 3 year warranty with advance replacement (they will send you a new unit first) - that did not happen.
had to send them mine first and was without it for a month!
came back - light bleeding is worse then before, contact ASUS again today and was being fed some nonsense that i need to contact retailer (yes, you: Fiona - ASUS Product Support Team). what a load of garbage.
retailers usually provide 30day return policy, rest is on ASUS and their self-proclaimed "great 3y warranty"
i got this display to replace aging 27" from a competing major brand that was actually perfect, i just needed USB 3.0
this is a total disappointment and utter disgrace by ASUS and the their so-called "warranty service".
Other Thoughts: additionally, on 2012 15" macbook pro (display port) with OSX 10.9.1 - advanced color modes are not available via the menu. in W7 all the color profiles are available.
shame. should have been mentioned.
