Pros: It works. Nothing was loose, booted first try. Used with Item#: N82E16820231654 (BLUE theme), excellent compatibility. Runs quite cool. Fan control for 3-pin chassis fans is very good. LOTS of USB connectors. EPU does work, but be careful with TurboV Auto, voltage will go above what's needed quickly, so drop voltage manually back to stock\near-stock, while testing for stability.
Cons: Was too broke to buy M5A99X or M5A99FX, so this had to do. Besides, with the difference I'll be able to move up to an OCTO-core instead of a S#X-core, and get a better GPU (4GB?), or another set of Item#: N82E16820231654. Is that a con? : D
Other Thoughts: Flashed to 2301 BIOS via USB flash drive as soon as board posted (Download your drivers while stuff is in the mail). OC'd Athlon IIx2 245 to 3.5GHz as test passed. Bought it to run an FX later on, so no need to push this old C2 stepper.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: It works.....thank goodness.
Cons: It wasn't under $70 and I'm poor OK !
Other Thoughts: Upgrade when you can, donate it when you can't upgrade it. Upgrading an older Athlon II x2 245 from 2GB DDR2-800 with a new ASUS M5A97 Pro R2.0....auto detected @1600_CL11_1.6V, best performance\efficiency achieved @1333_CL7_1.5V. Will update if my experience changes for the worse (gosh, i hope not). If you have trouble with the height, use Item#: N82E16820231653 instead or in the two slots closest to the CPU (if you have this kit already). When i buy an FX8320, I'll tell you how 2133MHz goes with these.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Surprisingly, it arrived unbroken..... (they put the RAM in a paper envelope!)....everything from "the jungle" comes in a box (hint).
Cons: THE KIT DOESN'T WORK!!!....or with another 2GB stick. Before anyone questions my testing......i tested them together in my HP550, and a Dell D630 at work. I have tried other 4GB kits and they pass tests. The sticks in this kit do not run with any other 2GB...(i repeat) NOT EVEN EACH OTHER!!!
I have never come across such strange RAM. I should have bought Crucial, as the 2GB kit in this HP was Micron OEM. Or maybe i would have had better luck buying from "the jungle".
Other Thoughts: I'm not in the U.S. so this bad RAM already cost me 50% extra in shipping & taxes. It doesn't even make sense to RMA.....a refund might be a better option for me.......never buy the cheapest of anything...i keep forgetting...READ FULL REVIEW
