excellent value for your money!!!

AMD Athlon 64 3700+ - Athlon 64 San Diego Single-Core 2.2 GHz Socket 939 Processor - ADA3700BNBOX
AMD Athlon 64 3700+ - Athlon 64 San Diego Single-Core 2.2 GHz Socket 939 Processor - ADA3700BNBOX

Pros: Nothing that everyone else has not already stated - just a GREAT PROCESSOR!!! O'clocked to 2.4 ghz - could go higher if drop memory to 166 (using GeIL Value 1GB (2x512) DDR400). Runs very cool - 31 idle, 39 load and with cool n' quite get 21 idle!

Cons: Might have waited to get an X2 3800+ when the prices drop but don't would put the dual core to good use.

Overall Review: Only do minor video editing/encoding which works fine with this chip - and can still multitask (intenet, email, MS office) while encoding without too much worry.

good drive overall

Hitachi GST Deskstar 7K160 HDS721680PLA380 (0A32727) 80GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: worked first time and was recognized by mb and winxp

Cons: does not like any overclocking

Overall Review: Had my system overclocked 10% with regular pata drives, as soon as upgraded to this i started getting random hangs at startup or if system was pushed. Removed the overclock and everything is running fine - might be a problem with SATA drives in general and not just this one.

works great

GeIL Value 512MB DDR 400 (PC 3200) Desktop Memory Model GE5123200BL
GeIL Value 512MB DDR 400 (PC 3200) Desktop Memory Model GE5123200BL

Pros: works in dual channel

Cons: none

Overall Review: Bought two sticks to go with a dual channel kit purchases last year when building the system. All four sticks work together in dual channel and now have 2 GB with an Athlon 64 X2 4400+ running XPSp2

X2 capable

BIOSTAR K8T890-A9 939 VIA K8T890 ATX AMD Motherboard
BIOSTAR K8T890-A9 939 VIA K8T890 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Follow up to my previous review. This M/B easily takes the X2 4400 cpu (currently @ 2.4Ghz w/ stock settings.) After AMD price drops I decided to swap out the 3700+ Sandy for faster video editing and multi-tasking. Confirms other review reporting using an X2 4200 with this board. I guess it's not too much of a surprize as Biostar states it can run the FX60, but no mention of the X2s!

Cons: None

Overall Review: Don't need to tell anyone what we all already know about NewEgg!!!

good value becomes awesome value!

GeIL Value 1GB (2 x 512MB) DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model GE1GB3200BDC
GeIL Value 1GB (2 x 512MB) DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model GE1GB3200BDC

Pros: Updating an earlier review (4/5)to (5/5). Was able to overclock and currently running memory 1:1 with Athlon 3700+ Sandy @ 230Mhz(x11=2.5Ghz).

Cons: Absolutely none! Initially thought had to lower memory speed down to 166 for a stable overclock.

Overall Review: Timings 2.5-4-4-8, up the voltage to 2.9 and system is stable to mobo maximum of 232 Mhz. Have run hours of Memtest, Stress Prime and OCCT with no errors! By the way, the memory does not like timings to be changed from stock - either tight or loose!

good value

GeIL Value 1GB (2 x 512MB) DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model GE1GB3200BDC

Pros: good performance, heat spreaders, tolerates slight overclock on stock settings

Cons: have to drop speed to get more CPU o'clocking

Overall Review: Worked right away with no bad stick. Running stable with Athlon 64 3700+ @ 2.4 GHz, caused freezing if pushed any further without changing speed to 166.
