Pros: It was relatively fast for a magnetic hard drive. Relatively quiet, but nothing to the order of silent.
Cons: Failed relatively quickly for being a Western Digital drive and being a Black series which I thought would be the best for my purposes. Honestly I've had non-Western Digital drives that haven't failed in longer and I didn't pay extra for them being a performance model like the Black series.
When it failed it left no warning, I shut it down for updates last night and the system wouldn't recognize the drive this morning. The computer knew a drive was there but it was an unknown drive and the drive itself was making some buzzing and beeping sounds intermittently.
Other Thoughts: I've bought 2 of these Western Digital Black drives over the course of 2 years and now they both have failed. I wouldn't recommend them because if you're buying them for the name or the series I don't think either makes it worth it.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: It's supposedly fast and has good features for performance and such.
Cons: Noisy, the friend I bought it for complained it was loud as soon as he got it
Failed in less than 2 years
The friend I bought it for said it was starting up slower and slower and getting noisier.
Other Thoughts: Considering I've bought two of these types of drives, one for myself and another for my friend, I wouldn't recommend it. They bought failed within a few years of use and I was buying it for the Western Digital name and the performance of the black series, but they failed to impress.READ FULL REVIEW
