Mionix NAOS 5000 7 Buttons USB Laser 5040 dpi Mouse
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: more than 1 year

1 out of 5 eggs I suggest not purchasing mice from Mionix 06/29/2013

This review is from: Mionix NAOS 5000 7 Buttons USB Laser 5040 dpi Mouse

Pros: * My original review of this mouse can be found on page 11, just look for the nickname [?]72uger.

It's a nice mouse aesthetically, but in usage terms it is not so great after owning it for quite a while, which I will explain below in "Cons."

Cons: I have owned this mouse since November 6, 2010 at 2:44 AM EST. It was a great mouse while it lasted, but it recently started malfunctioning.

What it does:
• Software no longer works as it once did and even when I uninstall it, and reinstall it, it still will not work and simply crashes. I can still use it as a plug and play mouse, but other than that I cannot fully utilize all of its functions.
• Certain buttons will register two presses, when I only press it one time (double clicking randomly), which others users have eventually began mentioning after my original review. It is extremely annoying, because when you're doing anything very important it makes you mess up often, so you have to redo what you just did, which decreases productivity.

Other Thoughts: I am a very neat, clean and organized individual. I keep everything I own in pristine condition, even though I use whatever I buy very often (daily). I never beat on anything I buy (e.g. slamming my mouse). I also have my computer (custom built it myself and been doing it for years) in a dust free environment, so in other words this mouse should have lasted a lot longer.

Mice I have used that give out too soon:
• Mionix
• Razer
• Certain Logitech
• Rat (Mad Catz)

I've used Steelseries mice and never had a problem with them, but who knows how long that will last (if they change in the future with quality).

5 out of 5 eggs [?]72uger's Review 11/06/2010

This review is from: Patriot Xporter XT Boost 8GB Flash Drive (USB 2.0 Portable) Model PEF8GUSB

Pros: It's really fast, rugged looking, and just works great. If you were to drop it, it would be just fine, but still always keep your USB Flash Drive backed up.

Cons: There is nothing wrong with it, it does what it is supposed to do perfectly.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a good USB Flash Drive, then look no further, because his is it.

5 out of 5 eggs [?]72uger's Review 11/06/2010

This review is from: Mionix NAOS 5000 7 Buttons USB Laser 5040 dpi Mouse

Pros: This mouse is perfect. The Mionix NAOS 5000 is pretty much everything you could ever want in a wired mouse. The scroll wheel is smooth, but not too smooth, so you can tell when you're scrolling with it. When you click any button on it, it is a smooth click as well, but you can still hear a faint click sound. No button on it needs to be pressed really hard, like some other mice have problems with. The ergonomic grip is perfect (well for my hands and my hands aren't small). If you're used to using a normal style mouse, then you will be blown away by this mouse. It forms to your hand in a way. If you can test it out in a store I suggest you do that first, but I guarantee you will like this mouse a lot. The 40g weight system (5g increments) is great too. Allowing four 5g weights in the right and left sides of the mouse underneath. It lights up green, but you can customize the LED lighting system as well.

Cons: I can't seem to find anything wrong with this mouse. The other review below that stated problems in Windows 7 64 bit, well I use Windows 7 64 bit (Windows 7 Ultimate) and I have no problems with this mouse at all, so maybe he had a bad mouse, or downloaded the wrong software for it (for changing the LED lighting, etc).

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a great gaming mouse, this is it. Razer mice break too much and Logitech are good, but some buttons on their mice can be a bit hard to press for some odd reason. I suggest this mouse to anyone. It may be a bit expensive to some, but just wait for it to go on sale, or shop around, and you can find it cheap. I hope my review was helpful to anyone looking to buy this mouse, see ya.
