This review is from: Corel PaintShop Pro X7
Pros: 64 bit support seems to be improving.
HDR support is nice - different, sometimes welcoming results compared to photomatix.
Selection criteria is a bit kludgy though, would just like to drag my auto brackets in, rather than several clicks and navigations.
Cons: With this upgrade, I went from X5 to X7 purely for the content aware fill, but it's little more than an automated clone brush, clumsily grabbing a swathe of nearby pixels, rather than using any kind of fuzzy logic to compute what the fill should look like.
It seems pretty much, in function, like the old "scratch remover" function which I think has been around for years.
I played with it a little, but it couldn't take power lines out from a sky, or fill grassy areas without obviously cloning big chunks of surrounding grass (repeat anomalies make cloning obvious)
Do not like the way that the smart fix and other photo edit functions are now the main window, rather than an additional window popup where I could keep the original on another monitor - dual monitor menu setting now just forces the organize window, rather than editor functions.
Other Thoughts: I've been using PSP since the early nineties, pre WWW in-fact, from when I ran a bulletin board.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: I replaced a 24" Asus with this monitor.
Very light and slim, extra inches make a big difference [that's what she said]
I can sit farther back. Monitor is very bright and clear, with very good color and tone. No visible banding of light, even distribution.
Cons: I don't have two, with an extended desktop (yet)
Other Thoughts: My HDR photography (a hobby) looks even better on this monitor and I can sadly see even more flaws in some of the post processing.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Microsoft SIDEWINDER X4 Keyboard - Retail
Pros: Backlight is really nice.
I have websites assigned to the special function keys which is very useful
Like the feel of the palm rest.
Cons: The keys seem ever so slightly smaller than my old Logitech, which I'm only upgrading from because my wife kept spilling things onto it and because so many keys wore off.
I keep hitting the caps lock button instead of 'a' which is a bit annoying.
Would be nicer if the media buttons at the top didn't require to be looked at to operate, the logitech had a tactile feel to their position with back, forward, vol up/down laid out together, which was better.
Some manufacturers place restrictions on how details of their products may be communicated.
