Cons: Had 2 of these, both failed, each in under a year of use. Drives begin experiencing numerous access and connection errors, and data becomes inaccessible shortly after.
Other Thoughts: Seagate has some good drives, but this is not one of them.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Decent pricing, easy disassembly/assembly, simple design
Cons: Ventilation inadequate, as the enclosure keeps drive powered on and spinning nonstop (no power-saving spin-down).
Enclosure seems to be prone to occasional device recognition issues, requiring to power on for 15-30sec before connecting (as if the enclosure's controller needs time to read from the drive before it is usable) otherwise device connection errors are seen. This is problematic after reboots.
Pros: Works reliably. Priced well
Cons: Inserting drives doesn't feel "natural" - you have to make a slight effort to align the drive properly with the connector, as it's easy to tilt the drive in the wrong direction. I would expect a "full size" 3.5" drive to fit "snug".READ FULL REVIEW
