This review is from: Rosewill Mechanical Keyboard RK-9000BR with Cherry MX Brown Switch
Pros: Newer versions seem to have some epoxy under the USB connector on the board, which does seem to help a lot with preventing breakage on the solder joints since the solder isn't directly handling any movement stress.
Also, the RMA process is a breeze for replacing failed units covered by warranty (and the RMA team is very helpful)
Cons: Older unit:
-USB port broke - repairs ended up requiring me to solder wires from the cord directly to the board.
-Key/Switch Broken: Asterisk key on NUM pad has stopped functioning, entirely, and looks like it will require soldering repair.
-Key/Switch Broken: Minus key on NUM pad broken. Thankfully this one is under warranty, so this is being processed as an RMA as of now.
Other Thoughts: Purchased 2 of these before I started having issues. I would not purchase these again if I could go back - save up, and go for something higher quality, even if it means spending nearly double.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Seagate Expansion 1TB USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive
Pros: Excellent performance when functional! Was a good price at the time as well.
Cons: Enclosure failed within the first half year of use. HDD also failed in an alternate enclosure before reaching a full year of use.
Other Thoughts: Purchased the 2TB model of this exact enclosure (same drive model/revision as well, aside from capacity)READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Seagate Expansion 3TB USB 3.0 3.5" Desktop External Hard Drive STBV3000100
Pros: Excellent pricing at the time, drive performed well while it worked, and looked nice.
Cons: Drive failure after 8 months - no disk errors reported in Windows until the day of failure. Unfortunately not all data was covered by my backups either...
Also, this is the 3rd Seagate drive in a row to fail on me... Whilst my Samsung and WD drives are going strong all the while.
