Pros: Stable at 4.04Ghz with air cooling; easy upgrade on my AM3 board (no BIOS update required); beats my old 955BE which would only give me a stable clock of 3.85Ghz
Cons: I put in onto the CPU socket and it didn't go in like every other of the many AM3/AM2 processors I have handled. After careful examination, I could see one of the pins was bent. With some luck and a great deal of carefulness, I was able to bend the pin back to its proper position and install the CPU. Minus 1 star for having to deal with bent pin!
Other Thoughts: Who cares whether it is 125 watts or 140? The reality is that if you are overclocking you are already putting more watts than that through the processor when it is at loadREAD FULL REVIEW
This review is from: DFI LANParty DK 790FXB-M3H5 AM3 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard
Pros: User friendly DFI bios
Cons: Chipset will heat up quickly if you overclock the FSB. But not really a con. Just match this with a BE processor and run everything at stock speeds (or slightly above) except the multiplier.
Other Thoughts: I am stable for nearly two months of operations at 3.8Ghz with my 955BE and CPU temps never exceed 45C under load (with a Ultra 120 cooler). Can push to 4Ghz but temps rise and need higher voltage for stability. Just leave it at 3.8 and enjoy!READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: I have this running at 4-4-4-11 at 1006Mhz and it has been perfectly stable for more than a month now. Very happy customer.
Cons: None so far
Other Thoughts: I have not tried to push the speed higher since I don't want to press my luck and have lived through too many dead memory modules.READ FULL REVIEW
