This review is from: Mad Catz R.A.T.5 Gaming Mouse for PC and Mac - Gloss Black
Pros: Big Mouse: this is a pro because I have big hands and have what is called a "palm grip". I can't stand other mice where I have to arch my hand in a certain position for long periods of time for "optimum performance".
Adjustable Weight: The adjustable weight on the mouse is super nice; being able to control that allows for a level of control that you can't find in other mice. Keep in mind that this is a metal mouse, so by nature it will be heavier than any plastic mouse out there; even with the weights pulled off.
Adjustable Length: That's right, this mouse features the ability to increase in length to fit even the longest of hands with comfort and ease. Just press in the buttons on the side of the mouse and pull back with your other hand.
Long Braided Cord: Pretty self explanatory. The cord is a great length, very flexible and best of all braided, so there is very little risk of it accidently bending or breaking in a random place due to placement.
Comfort: When I first put my hand on this mouse it was like a dream come true. It fit all the contours of my hand perfectly; I didn't even have to adjust the length of the mouse!
Programmable: You can set three different layouts to this mouse with the drivers that come with it. It's great if you switch between MMO's, FPS's and RTS's frequently. Even if you just like browsing the web the design for this mouse allows you to read through with no effort.
Cons: Now for the dreaded cons.
Every con I have for this mouse is superficial. It doesn't take away from the mouse at all and is more of a slight annoyance that you would only really notice if you like to be super clean. The material the mouse is made of really loves your skin. It absorbs the oils from it and makes it obvious where you're placing your hand. Nothing worth really worrying about considering how amazing this thing is.
However, I rated this mouse 1 egg. There is a reason for that and I know you're asking why. So here it is.
The reason for this amazing mouse getting 1 egg is not because I misclicked, but because my mouse is dead. Unfortunately, it died after 6 months of use. The sensor in the mouse suddenly stopped reading no matter what I did to it.
I am a fair man, however. This didn't make the mouse get 1 star by itself. It's possible I was too rough with it or I simply had a model that was defective. That's what I told myself.
However, I did research on the matter and unfortunately it is an issue in all of the R.A.T.5 mice out there and the company knows about it. The average life span of a R.A.T. model mouse is about 6 months to a year, more if you're lucky. The issue has to do with the souldering on the sensor that wears down with time. That means that this mouse, although amazing in every way, is a ticking time bomb waiting to die on you.
Other Thoughts: This is the most amazing mouse I have ever owned; but it's not worth buying again if it's just going to die on me within a year or a little more. It had so much potential, but bad engineering was the downfall of this mouse. I suggest looking elsewhere for a gaming mouse, unless you want to have a quick ride with the most amazing mouse I've ever owned before it dies.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: MG51-USB - Magnum True 5.1 Surround Sound USB Over Ear Headset with Mic - Black
Pros: 1. Good surround sound despite being USB only. After all the bad things I heard about quality around USB only model headsets, I was surprised to hear how good things were. Great bass and wonderful surround.
Cons: 1. First and foremost, the makers of this headset took forever to deliver this. I had to wait three weeks for it to arrive, and when I questioned why it took so long via customer service email, I received no response. Terrible customer service quality if you want something quickly.
2. The cord on this headset is very short. It is only 4 or 5 feet long, which is not nearly long enough if you want any kind of movement while on your computer.
3. Terribly built. After only two months of use the piece attached to the left speaker snapped, making it impossible to keep pressed against your head. It wasn't abused, there are no kids or animals in my home to abuse it while I am away, and when they broke they were simply resting on my head. I shifted in my chair and it simply broke.
Other Thoughts: I wouldn't buy these headphones ever again. They feel very cheaply made, the way it sits on your head is very uncomfortable you can't rely on them to last more than a few months.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: PLANTRONICS .Audio 326 Supra-aural Stereo Headset
Pros: Lightweight, comfortable, affordable.
Cons: Cheaply made, not durable in the least.
Not USB, but that can't be expected on everything.
Other Thoughts: I bought two of these boys for Christmas in 2011 and in less than 3 months both of these headphones fell apart. They weren't under heavy use; hell, they didn't even come out of the box until two months after they got them, and they couldn't stay held together. For $20 I expect much higher quality and durability in my headphones. Save your money and buy a different pair of headphones; these ones will break on you.READ FULL REVIEW
