HP Compaq Laptop 6910P Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 (2.20 GHz) 2 GB Memory 80 GB HDD 14.1
  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Solid, well-built, highly useable screen image. Extremely pleased with purchase overall.

Cons: Loaded windows difficult to update.

Other Thoughts: I purchased several of these to use with a Linux OS. Ubuntu wouldn't load, so used Fedora, which is working great. The 80gb HDD is okay, but installed a faster 320GB HHD. Wish vendor would offer compatible memory upgrades on same page as item is listed.

  • neweggOwned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: For general document printing, an excellent printer.

Not unduly loud.

Cons: Banding on both colors and greys.

Somewhat complicated and confusing instructions for wireless setup.

When printing watermarks, the greys are too prominent.

Other Thoughts: Our main printer for years have been HPs. When we set up documents to print on both sides, we don't have to tell the printer to use duplex. If the Brother has this capability, we haven't found it yet. However, you can manually select duplex (ditto mono) on every print job. Just a bit more time consuming and wasteful of paper if you forget.
