ASUS R9290X-DC2OC-4GD5 Radeon R9 290X 4GB 512-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Very fast, nice overclock out of the box. I used this card for gaming / mining.

Did not finish to get a max overclock but did reach 1130 core 1400 memory stable on 3dmark Firestrike. For mining used 920/1500 @ 880 khash with stock voltages.

Card stayed surprisingly quiet under mining as well as gaming while holding constant clock speeds.
No stability issues at stock clocks.

Beat my 2x6970s at 1044/1500 in firestrike by 31%.

Aesthetically card looks fantastic! Top plate really does add a unique look to the card.

Cons: Computer shutdown while I was out of the house. Turned back on and "magic smoke" came from underneath the top plate.

Overclocks were not stable under extended gaming. (did not have enough time with the card to find best stable O/C) Also may have been limited by whatever faulty chip that went up in smoke.

Other Thoughts: If you have a small case be sure you check to make sure it will fit. This card is larger than my MSI 6970 Lightning which was HUGE.

I hope that my DOA card was just a fluke and I expect my replacement card will not have any issues. I would still recommend this despite my bad luck.

Really looking forward to the custom EK block for this card. Planning on putting 2 of these on water.

Cooler Master SickleFlow 120 - Sleeve Bearing 120mm Green LED Silent Fan for Computer Cases, CPU Coolers, and Radiators
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: more than 1 year

Pros: They are cheap and they do move a lot of air. LED lighting is really nice with semi transparent plastic gives them a unique look.

Cons: I have bought 5 of these and every one started rattling within 6 months to 1 year. I have removed all of them now from the rattling and vibration they were causing in my case. The rattle is coming from the motor housing and not a mounting issue. I would not buy these again because they just don't last very long. Better to invest in some nice fans that you won't have to replace later on.

HIS IceQ X Turbo H695QNT1G2M Radeon HD 6950 1GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: Great OC out of the box especially since they are relatively cheap.
overclock to bios limit of 900mhz just fine without having to change the voltage.
Under full overclocked load of bitcoin mining cards stay in low to mid 70c

Cons: They are kinda ugly... might just be me that thinks that though.
No dual bios switch so no second chances with bios editing faults :(
Stock fan setting is low and lets the cards get hotter than they need 2. I would recommend a custom fan setting with msi afterburner. unless you need the card to be extra quiet.

Other Thoughts: I bought 2 cards for a crossfire and the top card was overheating due to poor airflow in my case. Not a negative to the card just as a forewarning for anyone doing a crossfire make sure your case is designed to move enough air.

I also have an msi 6950 twin frozr 3 these cards push a lot more air out of the case than my tf3 does so that is a positive.

The price differential is because the tf3 is a 2gb card and this is a 1gb as far as performance goes there is no negative to having a 1gb card.

If your wanting to do any extreme overclocking i do recommend the tf3 however its worth the extra $50-$60
