Pros: - 10 year warranty
- Advertised speeds
- 3D V-NAND
Cons: - Last about 6 months
- Intermittent read errors during boot
- Decided to enter "lock" mode while performing a Secure Erase with Samsung Magician.
Other Thoughts: About the issues:
Intermittently during booting and restarts "A Disk read error occurred" system message would display and prompting for a restart. Tried new cables, tested components, etc and still continued to received the error message.
Tried to perform a Secure Erase with Samsung Magician and nothing except issues. Attempted to do a Secure Erase from USB boot and again, Magician has nothing, but issues. After having nothing except issues after several attempts. Decided to forget about doing a Secure Erase. Decided to reboot machine then suddenly was met with "Enter User password" then "Enter Master password" - Drive was completely locked.
How can the drive be locked with a password? Never even enabled the password feature. Basically a paper-weight in it's current condition.
I've used many SSD's in my past builds and never ran into any of these issues whatsoever. After the Samsung 850 Pro SSD failed, I replaced it with a spare Intel 530 SSD. No error messages during boot or restart, everyone works.
Pros: - Looks great
- 3 case fans included
- Great airflow
- Built in fan filters
- Can fit a dual 120mm radiator
- Rear watercooling tube holes
- No rattles
Cons: - Some mounting/thumbscrew holes poorly threaded. Left some metal shavings on the desk
Other Thoughts: I've used a Cooler Master and a Corsair case before moving onto this case. My previous setups were full ATX and decided to built a mATX setup.
Not once did the two previous cases had issues with hole threading, but this case did. It left metal shavings on my desk when I first removed the thumbscrews.
Pros: - Stable
- Worked great out of the box
- Fans are quiet under load (unless using as a Crossfire setup)
- No problems setting up Crossfire
Cons: - Slight coil whine under load
Other Thoughts: To go into more detail about the noise. The fans are quiet during idle and during load unless you are using it in a Crossfire setup and that's understandable as I have two of these in a mATX setup with millimeters of space between the first and second card.READ FULL REVIEW
