This review is from: Argosy 1.5TB USB 2.0 3.5" HDD Media Player HV358T-0015T
Pros: easy to use, HDMI output.
Cons: HDMI ports stopped working after months of use. I have tried all diff ways but still not working about to send back for repair but not sure it is worth to spend $10-20 for shipping back since the Composite still working
ONLY give 3 eggs because:
It is a little noisy. Does not play wmv file extension. HDMI stop working after 8 months
Other Thoughts: Here is the recommendation for tech support via the email:
1) Try to use a different known good HDMI cable.
2) Try to connect to a different HDMI port of you TV
3) Try to power cycle the TV
4) Connect both Composite and HDMI cable to the unit and TV. Switch your TV to composite connection and go to the HV358T video setup to set the “Component Out” to 720P or 1080i and then switch the TV to HDMI connection to see if any video output to the TV.
If above doesn’t resolve the problem then the unit might hardware related problem. If that the case, you can send the unit back for warranty repair service.
I have done all 4 ways but HDMI still not working. I thought the #4 should work but it did not.
I also tried holding the ">>" and pressing the "Menu" buttons for a long time but I still get no image via HDMI port after unplug from TV to copy a movie file on my PC. After that I plugged the unit back to my TV then I got no image.
