Pros: Good mobo, easy to install, good layout.
BIOS is really nice to use and the self-update could not be any easier.
Cons: No matter what I try, I can't make that motherboard stay in Sleep or Hibernate mode under Windows 8.1.
First this is with a fresh Windows 8.1 install on top of a brand new ASRock motherboard.
Second what does Microsoft have to do with it? You know fairly well they will tell me to contact the motherboard manufacturer.
I have tried several options:
- Windows > Hibernate
- Windows > Sleep mode without the Intel RapidStart
- Windows > Sleep mode with the Intel RapidStart
- I have disabled the Windows options to wake up to do maintenance. I never installed the Remote Wake or Smart Connect software since it's the reverse of what I want.
- I have tried disabling *ALL* the options to wake from USB or RTC or interrupts in the BIOS.
- Updated to latest BIOS.
No matter what, the PC randomly comes wakes up within 1 minute or 5 minutes or 30 minutes. It varies.
It basically means all the fancy sleep/hibernates options promised by the motherboard are totally useless.
ASRock support has been very disappointing and unhelpful on the subject.
Other Thoughts: The Remote Wake or Smart Connect software seem of dubious utility. If you want a NAS, get a NAS.READ FULL REVIEW

Pros: Nice design, easy to open and install hd/ram/dvd.
Cons: The provided BIOS does not have the "Restore power after AC loss" option, meaning it's useless if you want to turn this into a mini server -- which I was planning to. (There's a BIOS upgrade but it's said not to offer this option, it's just a wifi fix.)

Pros: Cheat, good specs.
Cons: DOA, as I found after I spend 1h installing it. I called Thermaltake tech support which gave me a troubleshooting procedure, which is actually the same that is printed in the user manual that came with the PSU.
Now it's up to Newegg to give me a replacement.
Other Thoughts: Free shipping doesn't seem to apply to returns/replacements. I wish this were disclosed first hand.
There are a lot of comments around here regarding thermaltake rebates being rejected for no apparent good reason, so don't count too much on it.
Some manufacturers place restrictions on how details of their products may be communicated.
