Excellent value for the money
Pros: Bright picture, HUGE screen, inexpensive, great value.
Cons: None so far
Overall Review: So far I'm pretty pleased with my purchase. Hard to believe a 27" flat panel for less than I used to pay for a 14" VGA. If you're an older person with less than perfect vision, this is exactly what you need. I can read webpages with no problem on this even without my glasses.
It's certainly cheap enough
Pros: Decent performance, extremely reasonable price
Cons: Not enough storage
Overall Review: This does NOT support moving apps to the MicroSD card, even with the assistance of a management app. The card can only be used for data storage, which means the 4GB of onboard storage doesn't go very far at all. I guess you could put the installers for apps you don't need all the time on the card and install them as needed, but that seems awfully unwieldy. It's OK for my needs - I just wanted a "controller" tablet for a Chromecast device and it's fine for that. But if you're looking to be able to install lots of apps, keep looking - this isn't what you want. Although described as refurbished, mine showed no signs of prior use other than being repackaged in non-retail packaging.
Missing instructions and Windows key
Pros: Good specs, reasonably priced, portable
Cons: No assembly/setup instructions and appears to be missing Windows activation key. Will be contacting Avatar tomorrow for assistance.
Overall Review: Would have been pretty happy with this if it weren't for the problem activating Windows. Not pleased at all under the circumstances.
Warranty?
Pros: Assuming this is a refurb since it's first gen.
Cons: Not seeing any information about warranty - does it have one, is it from Apple or Newegg, how long is the warranty, etc. etc. etc.?
Device is OK. Support is the sUx0r
Pros: Nice bright screen. Relatively easy to navigate.
Cons: STILL unable to register after trying all afternoon and calling Sony Support. ("Wait a couple of hours and try again." Yeah, that's gonna help) Unfortunately, this appears to constitute business as usual for Sony these days - sell products that require online registration and then don't keep up the sites so their customers can actually register and use their purchases. I used to love Sony products and considered them one of the better brands on the market, but not any more.
Don't bother unless you live out in the boonies
Pros: Charges Zune - works great places there are no radio stations to interfere with the signal.
Cons: Unless you live out in the middle of nowhere, you'll have trouble finding an open radio frequency. I bought mine back in April, and the only time I've used it was when we went to Michigan's Upper Peninsula on vacation last month. It works great if you're someplace with very few radio stations, but at home, forget it. And I live in Kansas City - can't even imagine what it would be like in Chicago, New York, or LA where there are lots more radio stations.
Overall Review: Usually when something's this cheap, there's a reason. That's definitely the case here.
