Rosewill CHALLENGER-U3 - Black Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Dual Front Mounted USB 3.0 Ports, Three Preinstalled Fans: 1 x Front Blue LED 120mm Fan, 1 x Top 140mm Fan, 1 x Rear 120mm Fan
  • neweggOwned For: more than 1 year

Pros: Easy for building, roomy for a small case. Lots of fans. Good looking. Bottom mounted PSU. Mesh front screens; keeps dust out.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I just ordered my third Challenger case. That's how much I like these. Two have been in service for over 6 months, one of them for more than a year. They have plenty of room for big video cards, good airflow, room for more fans. I use them with overclocked systems(4 sticks of ram, 2 video cards xfired) and they never get hot. Tool-less design works well. I like the sideways HDD mounts. Wide enough for Zalman CNPS10x Performa hsf, which is tall. Bottom mounted PSU keeps weight low in the case. All in all, a good case for the money; on sale it's a real bargain. Did swap fans in one case for purple led fans, looks good. Highly recommend for the price.

5 out of 5 eggs Like a champ! 09/26/2011

This review is from: ZALMAN CNPS10XPERFORMA 120mm Long Life Bearing CPU Cooler

Pros: Runs cool and works great. I mean excellent! Quiet enough when clean. Best air cooler I've used.

Cons: Wide, may get in way of high heatsinks on ram at least on AMD systems. G. Skill ripjaws fit but not in closest slots. May work if you install ram first.

Other Thoughts: This cooler is really good. Keeps my cpu at mid 20c or lower even when gaming heavily. Only gets to 40c when pushing benchmarks in Prime95 or others. Will get another when I build new system.

Use low heatsink ram on AMD systems. I use ADATA 2000MHz ram with low heatsinks, they fit fine. Even fits in Rosewill Challenger case which is not that wide.

Gigabyte 890FX/1055t@3.64GHz, Gigabyte HD5770, ADATA 2000MHZ, WD 1TBFAEX, Samsung DVD writer, Rosewill card reader, Raidmax730w, 4 case fans.

ARCTIC MX-4 Thermal Paste, Carbon Based High Performance Thermal Compound for All Coolers, Thermal Interface Material, 4 Grams

Pros: Smooth, easy to apply, keeps temps way down. No cure time. Lasts a long time.

Cons: Not one. Price might seem high but it is 4.0 grams compared to 3.5 grams for the 2nd best. ;-)

Other Thoughts: Switched from other most popular brand and never looked back. After taking apart many business and gaming systems and looking at the thermal paste, I decided that MX-4 is the best I've seen. Doesn't burn away and deteriorate like others. Just ordered more. Pay attention to your application and you will be happy. GA890FX/1055t@3.6GHz always cool @20c.
