Pros: I like this company - setup was a breeze - plug in co-ax cable (x2), plug in ethernet cable (x2), plug in the cable cards which you have to get from your cable provider (x2 - my cable provider calls them M-Cards which means multi-stream and is different from a standard cable card) then download software from silicondust's website, install and follow the instructions also downloaded from their website and voila! cards are recognized channels scanned and they have a neat program to instantly view any of the available channels called Quick TV. I use windows media center in windows 7 on a dedicated pc on my network for viewing on 3 TV's - 2 with Xbox's connected to them and 1 with a D-Link media center extender. In addition, I have other pc's on my network that can access the tuners as well.
Other Thoughts: All your trouble will come from your cable provider and in my case microsoft! Cable Co. problems: 1) It took multiple attempts for them to send signals to the cards to get them to work (even though they said they were activated when I picked them up) 2) If you have premium channels like I do such as HBO, Showtime, etc. it took the cable Co multiple attempts at checking those signals to get it straight as well. The worst part is that I had to direct them and not let them get away with trying to blame someone else! And now to microsoft - for media center you have to deal with 1) digital cable advisor (DCA) and 2) a digital product key, both of these issues were a pain to do the research online and figure out for myself. There are not enough characters for me to plainly explain what needs to be done as much as I would like to just walk someone through the process and avoid my trial and errors!READ FULL REVIEW
