This review is from: APC BR1500G Back-UPS Pro 1500 VA 10 outlets Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)
Pros: I have always used APC UPS'. They have always been great products. This one happened to be a lemon, but more on that later.
Love the energy saving capabilities, the LED display is clear and bright, the PowerChute Software is very interesting showing me the cost of operation etc.
Cons: My UPS started beeping one night, and it was near impossible to get it to stop beeping. It would stop for a minute and start again. I called APC, and talked to a rep, she had me re-install the batteries, and when it still didn't fix the problem, she sent me a new battery pack. It arrived at the speed of light. (they promised 3-5 days, it was here the next day).
After installing the new battery pack, everything went along fine for awhile, then in the middle of the night the UPS when crazy and started beeping again. I called APC, they walked me through some troubleshooting tips, and we got it back on-line.
A few weeks later, it again went into beep mode, and I called APC a 3rd time. This time, with no questions asked they sent me out a new unit. Again, it arrived the next day (not the 3-5 days they promised.) I installed it and so far so good. I love when a company stands solidly behind their products as APC does.
Part of the new Energy Efficiency implementation is a master plug, with other plugs that will operate depending on the current being drawn through the master. So if you have your computer on the master plug, and you turn on your computer, then the other things plugged into the outlets governed by the master should go on. The trick is that the device in the master has to draw a certain level of energy to turn on all the subordinate outlets. A cable modem doesn't draw enough power, therefore none of the other outlets would go on. This took some troubleshooting and some time walking through the manual to ensure that the UPS was sensitive enough to the amount of current being drawn by the item in the master outlet. This could have been implemented a little better.
Other Thoughts: Hopefully this new UPS will perform like all the other APC products I've had in the past. At one point I owned 9 APC UPS', and they all were fantastic.READ FULL REVIEW

This review is from: Logitech K800 Black USB RF Wireless Slim Illuminated Keyboard
Pros: nice feel, back lighting is AWESOME, the Unifying Software has some issues, but when I got it to work it works well with this keyboard.
The rechargeable batteries are nice, and the ability to turn off the caps lock key through software is wonderful. Overall I like this keyboard a lot.
Cons: The unifying software from Logitech is a pain in the rear. I already had several unifying devices attached to my computer, adding this keyboard was very difficult. I would get to where I tried to find the keyboard and the software would hang. There are boatloads of complaints about this on the logitech site and all over the web, after digging for hours I found a solution, but it was not easy to implement or find.
The keyboard arrived loosely packaged in a generic brown cardboard box. I immediately plugged in the keyboard to charge the batteries, and the LED was flashing red. Which means there was a problem with the batteries. When I opened the battery compartment there were two different manufacturer's batteries installed. I also opened my old K800 and found two batteries that matched one of the batteries that came with the new keyboard. After installing the two old batteries in the new keyboard it worked fine.
I purchased two new rechargeable batteries and it's working fine.
Other Thoughts: I was a little dismayed by the poor packaging and the battery issues. But all in all, the keyboard now works just fine, and the cost of 2 rechargeable batteries isn't huge, just annoyingREAD FULL REVIEW
