Pros: I recently purchased this drive to replace my aging Samsung 840, “which was actually performing just fine I needed to increase my storage area.” Install went flawlessly did an Acronis image took about seven minutes, where would normally take 14. Noticed an immediate increase in speed not only in boot time but in overall performance. Drive was set up GPT with no problems and running AHCI mode.
Cons: As I said this is a recent install so no problems or issues to report yet, will follow up with any issuer problems later.
Other Thoughts: This is not pertaining to Samsung drives in general, "but it seems that a lot of people seem to have issues with SSD drives on a regular basis. I think a lot of times that are actually system problems other then the hard drive. Make sure your motherboard and operating system is capable of using SSD type drives first. As far as Samsung's tech support goes I've never had to use them yet and have installed several of their drives on my customers system.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Foxconn G41MXE LGA 775 Intel G41 + ICH7 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: Great price for an LGA 775 motherboard, very straightforward. Will accommodate longer video cards decently. Nice compact design.
Cons: My only complaint on this motherboard was there seem to be quite a bit of delay on file transfers and accessing files it seems to lag when you opened them quite a bit. Have not experienced this on other G41 based motherboards.
Other Thoughts: Be aware of the 8gig memory limitation of the G41 chipset.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: ECS A780LM-M2 AM3 AMD 760G + SB710 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Pros: Nice layout of the motherboard as well as being compact. Easy to set up and ran well out of the box. Also comes with a three year warranty on parts. This is a nice straight-ahead no-frills motherboard that you can use for a basic machine, with your leftover AMD processors laying around the house.
Cons: I only rated the motherboard at three stars and this is why, "the motherboard is listed on the ECS website as being able to unlock cores. In fact after trying two known AMD processors that can be unlocked core wise, neither of them would unlock." After looking further on the ECS website they list actual motherboards that have this feature and the A780LM-M2 was not on the list at the time I viewed it. The feature that supposed to allow this is called "ECS "Special ACC"technology" and is not functional on this motherboard.
Other Thoughts: Other than the fact that you cannot unlock cores this motherboard, it is a very decent basic AMD motherboard. You should not be deterred by the unlock feature not working if you don't intend to use it anyways.READ FULL REVIEW
